Resilient, Textile and Laminate Floor Coverings - Design, Preparation and Installation - Part 2: Laminate Floor Coverings

This Technical Specification provides recommendations for the installation of laminate floor coverings. Generally laminate floor coverings are installed as floating floors but in some applications they can be integrally glued to the subfloor. This Technical Specification only details suitable methods for floating floor installation and advises on the selection of the materials required for their implementation. The guidelines in this Technical Specification are intended for use in cases where manufacturer's instructions, taking account of the national code of practice in the country where the installation is to be made, are not available. References to the national codes that are currently available are listed in the bibliography of the various parts of this Technical Specification. This part 3 of the Technical Specification is intended for use in conjunction with part 1 that deals with general matters relevant to textile and resilient floor coverings as well as to laminate floor coverings. All parts of the Technical Specification are intended to supplement, and not conflict with, National Standards.


Resilient, Textile and Laminate Floor Coverings - Design, Preparation and Installation - Part 4: Resilient Floor Coverings

This Technical Specification provides recommendations for the installation of resilient floor coverings. It covers products composed of polyvinyl chloride, linoleum, cork and rubber. It details suitable methods of installation and advises on the selection of the materials required for their implementation. The guidelines in this Technical Specification are intended for use in cases where manufacturer's instructions, taking account of the national code of practice in the country where the installation is to be made, are not available. References to the national codes that are currently available are listed in the Bibliography of the various parts of this Technical Specification. This Technical Specification is intended for use in conjunction with CEN/TS 14472-1 that deals with general matters relevant to textile and laminate floor coverings as well as resilient floor coverings. It gives recommendations for the installation of resilient floor coverings in new or existing buildings. It describes common procedures which are in use throughout Europe and highlights the major differences that can exist in different national procedures. Special measures beyond those described in this Technical Specification may be necessary for the successful installation of resilient floor coverings for specialist purposes such as electrostatic control or use in special wet areas. These specialist techniques are not described in this Technical Specification.

This Technical Specification establishes a system of graphic symbols for use in the marking of the following floor coverings and specifies the use of these symbols: — resilient floor coverings manufactured from plastics, linoleum, cork or rubber, excluding loose-laid mats; — textile floor coverings, excluding loose-laid mats; — laminate floor coverings; — floor panels for floating installation.

Building hardware - Emergency exit devices operated by a lever handle or push pad, for use on escape routes – Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements for the manufacture, performance and testing of emergency exit devices mechanically operated by either a lever handle or a push pad for the purpose of achieving a safe exit under an emergency situation on escape routes. The suitability of an emergency exit device for use on smoke/fire-resisting door assemblies is determined by fire performance tests conducted in addition to the performance tests required by this European Standard. Annex B indicates additional requirements for these products. This European Standard covers emergency exit devices, which are either manufactured and placed on the market in their entirety by one producer, or produced by more than one producer and subsequently placed on the market as a kit in a single transaction.


Fixed firefighting systems - Hose systems - Part 1: Hose reels with semi-rigid hose

This European Standard specifies requirements and methods of test for the construction and performance of fire hose reel systems with semi-rigid hose for installation in buildings, permanently connected to a water supply, for use by the occupants. It also provides requirements on evaluation of conformity and marking of these products. Its requirements may apply in general for other applications, for example in marine applications or in aggressive environments, but additional requirements can be necessary in such cases. This European Standard is applicable to both manual and automatic fire hose reels for installation with and without cabinets.


Fixed firefighting systems - Hose systems - Part 2: Hose systems with lay-flat hose

This Standard specifies requirements for the manufacture, performance and testing of panic exit devices mechanically operated by either a horizontal push-bar or a horizontal touch-bar, specifically designed for use in a panic situation on escape routes. The suitability of a panic exit device for use on fire/smoke resisting door assemblies is determined by fire performance tests conducted in addition to the performance tests required by this European Standard. Annex B indicates additional requirements for these products. This Standard covers panic exit devices which are either manufactured and placed on the market in their entirety by one producer or produced by more than one producer and subsequently placed on the market as a kit in a single transaction.

This standard specifies requirements, methods of test, and performance criteria for control and indicating equipment (see item B of figure 1 of EN 54-1) for usein fire detection and fire alarm systems installed in buildings.


Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 16: Voice alarm control and indicating equipment

This European Standard specifies requirements, methods of test and performance criteria for voice alarm control and indicating equipment for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems installed in buildings, where the alarm signal is in the form of tone(s) or voice message(s), or both. It also provides for the evaluation of conformity of the equipment to the requirements of this European Standard. NOTE The overall requirements of a voice alarm system, especially concerning audibility and intelligibility, are not covered in this part of EN 54. The manufacturer should consider requirements of an overall system that may affect the equipment design. Such system requirements may be specified in another part of EN 54, in national legislation, codes and standards or in contractual documents


Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 23: Fire alarm devices - Visual alarm devices

This European Standard specifies the requirements, test methods and performance criteria for visual alarm devices in a fixed installation intended to signal a visual warning of a fire between the fire detection and fire alarm system and the occupants of a building. It is intended to cover only those devices which derive their operating power by means of a physical electrical connection to an external source such as a fire alarm system. This European Standard specifies the evaluation of conformity and the marking of the visual alarm devices. This European Standard applies to visual alarm devices that rely on software for their operation and to those that do not. This European Standard applies only to pulsing or flashing visual alarm devices, for example xenon beacons or rotating beacons. Devices giving continuous light output are excluded from this European Standard. This European Standard is not intended to cover visual indicators, for example those on detectors or on the control and indicating equipment.


Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 24: Components of voice alarm systems – Loudspeakers

This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for loudspeakers intended to broadcast a warning of fire between a fire detection and fire alarm system and the occupants of a building. This European Standard specifies loudspeakers for two types of application environment: type A, generally for indoor use and type B, generally for outdoor use. This European Standard does not cover loudspeakers for special applications, for example loudspeaker for use in hazardous applications, if such applications require additional or other requirements or tests than those given in this European Standard. This European Standard is not intended to cover addressable loudspeakers, loudspeakers with active components. Voice alarm sounders are covered in EN 54-3:2001


Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 25: Components using radio links

This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for components used in fire alarms systems, installed in and around buildings, which use radio frequency links (RF links) to communicate. It also provides requirements for the evaluation of conformity of the components to the requirements of this European Standard. Where components work together and this requires knowledge of the system design, this document also specifies requirements on the system. When the fire detection and fire alarm systems (FDAS) use wired and RF links, the relevant parts of EN 54 apply together with this document. Requirements relevant to wire links are superseded or modified by those included in this European Standard. This document does not restrict: - the intended use of radio spectrum, e.g. frequency, power output of devices; - the allowed maximum number of the components using RF links within the FDAS or one transmission path and/or RF link; - the allowed maximum number of the components affected by loss of one transmission path and/or RF link. These requirements relate to national regulations and can vary from member state to member state


Smoke and heat control systems - Part 7: Smoke duct Sections

This European Standard applies to smoke control duct sections, placed on the market and intended to operate as part of a pressure differential system or smoke and heat exhaust system. This standard specifies requirements and gives reference to the test methods defined for smoke control duct sections and their associated components (for example, hangers and other items proven at the time of testing), which are intended to be installed in such systems in buildings. It also provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products to the requirements of this standard. Furthermore, marking and information on installation and maintenance of these products are also given in this European Standard. To avoid duplication, reference is made to a variety of other standards. To this end, this standard is to be read in conjunction with EN 1366-8, EN 1366-9 and EN 1366-1, for details of the fire resistance testing and EN 13501-4 for corresponding classification. This standard has not considered in detail the detrimental and/or corrosive effects that may be caused by process chemicals present in the atmosphere, which are drawn through the system intentionally or inadvertently. This European Standard also governs associated components used together with smoke control duct sections such as turning vanes and silencers, with the exception of natural and powered smoke ventilators and smoke control dampers, which are covered by separate standards. Ducts for use other than in smoke and heat exhaust/control systems are not covered by this standard.


Smoke and heat control systems - Part 8: Smoke control dampers

This European Standard applies to smoke control dampers, placed on the market and intended to operate as part of a pressure differential system or smoke and heat control system. This standard specifies requirements and gives reference to the test methods defined for smoke control dampers and their associated components, such as actuators which are intended to be installed in such systems in buildings. It also provides for the evaluation of conformity of these products to the requirements of this standard. Furthermore, provision on marking and information on installation and maintenance of these products are also given. This European Standard distinguish between two categories of smoke control dampers, i.e. single compartment smoke control dampers and multi-compartment fire resisting smoke control dampers. Smoke control dampers covered by this European Standard can be installed into smoke control system ducts or onto the ducts´ surface. They can be installed also into a wall, floor or ceiling/roof elements or onto the surface of these elements. To avoid duplication, reference is made to a variety of other standards. To this end, this standard is to be read in conjunction with EN 13501-4, prEN 1366-10 and EN 1366-2, for details of the furnace testing. This standard does not consider in detail the detrimental and/or corrosive effects that may be caused by process chemicals present in the atmosphere, which are drawn through the system intentionally or inadvertently.


Underground fire hydrants

This European Standard specifies the requirements, test methods and marking applicable to underground fire hydrants intended for fire fighting purposes: to be installed in a water distribution system; in sizes DN 80 and DN 100; suitable for an allowable operating pressure, PFA, of 10 bar or 16 bar or 25 bar with or without drain facility; having a vertical or horizontal, flanged, socket or spigot inlet; with one or two outlets and having outlet/s to national requirements; of globe (screw down) or gate valve type. This European Standard also provides for the evaluation of conformity of the underground fire hydrants to the requirements of this European Standard. This European Standard applies to fire hydrants for potable and non-potable water and for filtered water. Additional requirements may apply for other liquids. Couplings connected to outlets are outside the scope of this European Standard and should conform to national requirements.


Pillar fire hydrants

Building hardware - Locks and latches Electromechanically operated locks and striking plates - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for strength, security, durability and function of electrical and electronic components for all types of electromechanically operated locks and striking plates used on doors, window doors and entrance doors in buildings. Requirements relating to the purely mechanical feature of products included in this European Standard (e.g. resistance to drilling/side load) are covered by EN 12209. This European Standard covers electromechanically operated locks and striking plates which are either manufactured and placed on the market in their entirety by one producer or assembled from sub-assemblies produced by more than one producer and designed to be used in combination. This document is not applicable to electrically powered hold-open devices (EN 1155), electrically controlled panic exit systems (prEN 13633) or electrically controlled emergency exit systems (prEN 13637). It does not apply to purely magnetic locks, mechatronic or mechanical cylinders (EN 1303), handles (EN 1906), locks for windows, padlocks (EN 12320), locks for safes (EN 1300), furniture locks or prison locks, nor does it apply to cover operating and identification devices (such as mechanical cylinders, intelligent cards, digit codes, magnetic cards). This European Standard does not, for the time being, apply to electromagnetic door locks but these devices will be considered for inclusion in the first revision of this European Standard


Ductile Iron fittings for PVC-U or PE piping systems- Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to ductile iron fittings, ductile iron and mild steel couplings and flange adaptors and their joints to be used with poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes or polyethylene (PE) pipes. It is in conformity with EN 1452-1 to -5, ENV 1452-6 and -7 and EN 12201-1 to -5 respectively, for the construction of pipelines: - to convey water (e.g. water intended for human consumption); - with or without pressure; - to be installed below or above ground, inside or outside buildings. This European Standard is not intended to cover sewerage applications, where additional requirements may be necessary. This European Standard is applicable to fittings which are: - manufactured with socketed, flanged or spigot ends; - supplied externally and internally coated; - suitable for PE and PVC-U pipes with fluid temperatures between 0°C and 25°C, excluding frost, and for pressures up to 16 bar (PFA). For higher temperatures (up to 45°C for PVC-U or 40°C for PE) the PFA is derated as given in EN 1452 and EN 12201; - not intended for use in areas subjected to reaction to fire regulations. NOTE 1 This does not preclude special arrangements for the products to be used at higher temperatures. Temperature limitations and pressure limitations are those coming from the PVC-U or PE pipes. This European Standard covers ductile iron fittings, couplings and flange adaptors cast by any type of foundry process or manufactured by fabrication of cast components, as well as corresponding joints, in a size range extending from DN 60 to DN 700, to be used with pipes of external diameter from 63 mm to 710 mm. As long as no equivalent European Standard exists for mild steel accessories, this European Standard also covers couplings and flange adaptors for use with PVC-U and PE pipes which are fabricated partly or entirely from mild steel as well as corresponding joints, in a size range extending from DN 60 to DN 700, to be used with pipes of external diameter from 63 mm to 710 mm. This European Standard specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties and standard coatings. It also gives minimum performance requirements for all components, including restrained and non-restrained flexible joints. Joint design and gasket shapes are outside the scope of this standard. This European Standard does not cover fittings, couplings and flange adaptors intended to be used with different pipe materials other than PVC-U and PE. NOTE 2 Fittings, couplings and flange adaptors complying with the requirements of this European Standard for PVC-U also usually meet the requirements for PVC-O and PVC-A pipes. Where this is not the case, the manufacturer is expected to declare this in the relevant literature. NOTE 3 In this European Standard, all pressures are relative pressures, expressed in bars (100 kPa = 1 bar).


Ductile Iron pipes, fittings and accessories-External polyethylene coating for pipes - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard defines the requirements and test methods applicable to factory applied extruded polyethylene coatings for the external corrosion protection of ductile iron pipes conforming to EN 545, EN 598 and EN 969 for use at operating temperatures up to 50 °C. This European Standard does not cover ductile iron pipes protected with thin PE sleeve. Special works at site like drilling, tapping etc. may influence the corrosion protection properties. Those job steps shall be included in the instructions of pipe saddle and accessory manufacturers and all other essential installation instructions. These instructions are not part of this European Standard.


Plastics piping systems_ Polyethylene (PE) pipes for irrigation_ Specifications

ISO 8779:2010 specifies the pipes (mains, sub-mains and laterals) with nominal outside diameters from 12 mm up to and including 63 mm made from polyethylene (PE) intended to be used for the conveyance of water for irrigation. It also specifies the general properties of PE and the test parameters for the pipes designated as PE 32 and PE 40 by checking referenced points, to be used under the following conditions: - nominal pressures of PN 2,5, PN 4, PN 6, PN 8 and PN 10, as applicable, - at temperatures up to and including 45 ºC.


Drinking water

This standard deals with unbolted drinking water. It does not cover the different types of mineral, natural or carbonated water.


Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 26: Carbon monoxide detectors - Point detectors

This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for point detectors using carbon monoxide sensing for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems in and around buildings (see EN 54 1:2011). This European Standard provides for the assessment and verification of consistency of performance (AVCP) of carbon monoxide point detectors to this EN. This European Standard does not cover fire detectors incorporating at least one CO sensing element in combination with other elements sensing different fire phenomena. CO detectors having special characteristics suitable for the detection of specific fire risks are not covered by this European Standard. The performance requirements for any additional functions are beyond the scope of this European Standard (e.g. additional features or enhanced functionality for which this standard does not define a test or assessment method).


Fire resistance and smoke control tests for door and shutter assemblies, openable windows and elements of building hardware - Part 1: Fire resistance test for door and shutter assemblies and openable windows

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for durability, strength, security and functionality of mechanically operated locks and their locking plates: a) for use in doors in buildings; b) for use on fire and smoke compartmentation doors fitted with door closing devices, to enable such doors to close reliably and thus achieve self-closing in the event of fire; and c) for use on locked fire doors to maintain the fire integrity of the door assembly. This European standard covers locks and their locking plates which are either manufactured and placed on the market in their entirety by one producer or produced by more than one producer, or assembled from sub-assemblies produced by more than one producer and designed to be used in combination. This European Standard specifies mechanically operated locks and locking systems intended for use in different environmental and security conditions, thus necessitating different grades. This European standard does not specify Multipoint locks or their locking plates which are specified by prEN 15685. This European Standard specifies the dimensions and properties required for security Assessment of the contribution of the product to the fire resistance of specific fire resistance and/or smoke control door set assemblies is beyond the scope of this European Standard.

Building hardware - Electrically powered hold-open devices for swing doors - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements for separate hold-open devices and also for hold-open mechanisms incorporated in a door closer. Electrically powered hold-open devices for swing doors manufactured according to this European Standard can hold a swing door at a fixed position or can allow the door to swing freely. In each case interruption of the electrical supply will cause the controlled door to close positively.


Gypsum blocks - Definitions, requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the characteristics and performance of gypsum blocks with smooth faces for which the main intended uses are construction of non-load bearing partitions or independent wall linings and the fire protection of columns, lift shafts, shafts for services, etc. Gypsum blocks are not used to build ceilings. It covers the following performance characteristics related to the essential requirements: - reaction to fire; - resistance to fire; - direct airborne sound insulation; - release of dangerous substances; to be measured according to the corresponding European test methods, as well as: - thermal resistance to be calculated from the thermal conductivity values given in 4.3.2. It describes the reference tests for technical specifications. This European Standard covers also additional technical characteristics that are of importance for the use and acceptance of the product by the construction industry: - convenience classes for density; - convenience classes for pH. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard. This European Standard does not cover gypsum blocks of thickness less than 50 mm or gypsum storey height units.


Mechanical fasteners for gypsum plasterboard systems -Definitions, requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the characteristics and performance of mechanical fasteners, including nails, screws and staples, intended to be used for the fixing of gypsum plasterboard, gypsum boards with fibrous reinforcement, products from secondary processing and suitable ancillary products as shown in Figure 2, to timber and metal, as appropriate, in building construction works. The fasteners secure the board to the framing enabling its surface to be finished by jointing or plastering to receive decoration. They can also be used for the construction of the framing and for the connection between substructure and load bearing components and for fixing boards together. Mechanical fasteners contribute to the stability of the assembly. This European Standard covers the following product performance characteristics: reaction to fire and flexural strength to be measured according to the corresponding European test methods. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard. This European Standard also covers the additional technical characteristics that are of importance for the use and acceptance of the products by the construction industry and the reference tests for these characteristics. This European Standard does not cover nails, screws and staples intended for use with materials other than plasterboard and the plasterboard based products referred to above and their associated system components.


Adhesives for non-pressure thermoplastics piping systems- Specifications

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for adhesives used for joining the components of unplasticised poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC-C), acrylonitrile -butadiene-styrene (ABS) and styrene copolymer blends (PVC+SAN) thermoplastic piping systems for non-pressure applications (e.g. soil and waste discharge), independent of the application area.


Liquid-applied water impermeable products for use beneath ceramic tiling bonded with adhesives - Requirements, test methods, evaluation of conformity, classification and designation

This European Standard applies to all liquid-applied water impermeable products, based on polymer modified cementitious mortars, dispersions and reaction resin coatings, used beneath ceramic tiling, for external tile installations on walls and floors and in swimming pools. This European Standard gives the terminology concerning the products and specifies the test methods and the values of performance requirements for liquid-applied water impermeable products associated with tile adhesives. This European Standard specifies the evaluation of conformity and the classification and designation of liquid-applied water impermeable products beneath ceramic tiling. This European Standard does not contain recommendations for the design and installation of ceramic tiles and grouts in combination with water impermeable products. NOTE 1 Liquid-applied water impermeable products may also be used beneath other types of tiles (natural and agglomerated stones, etc.), where they do not adversely affect these materials. NOTE 2 The user of this European Standard should be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This European Standard does not purport to address all the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate health and safety practices and to ensure compliance with any European and national regulatory conditions.

Plastics piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels - Polyethylene (PE) - Part 1: General

This part of EN 1555 specifies the general aspects of polyethylene (PE) piping systems in the field of the supply of gaseous fuels. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard. In conjunction with Parts 2 to 5 of EN 1555 it is applicable to PE pipes, fittings, and valves, their joints and to joints with components of other materials intended to be used under the following conditions: a) a maximum operating pressure, MOP, up to and including 10 bar 1); b) an operating temperature of 20 °C as reference temperature.


Plastics piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels - Polyethylene (PE) - Part 2: Pipes

This part of EN 1555 specifies the characteristics of pipes made from polyethylene (PE) for piping systems in the field of the supply of gaseous fuels. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard. This European Standard specifies a test method (phase 2, step 1) and requirements for the minimum virucidal activity against bacteriophages of chemical disinfectants that form a homogeneous, physically stable preparation in hard water and that are used in food and industrial areas, excluding areas and situations where disinfection is medically indicated and excluding products used on living tissues. This European Standard applies at least to the following: a) processing, distribution and retailing of: 1) food of animal origin: ¾ milk and milk products; ¾ meat and meat products; ¾ fish, seafood, and their products; ¾ eggs and egg products; ¾ animal feeds; ¾ etc.; 2) food of vegetable origin: ¾ beverages; ¾ fruits, vegetables and their derivatives (including sugar, distillery ...); ¾ flour, milling and baking; ¾ animal feeds; ¾ .…; b) other industrial areas: ¾ biotechnology (yeast, proteins, enzymes, ...). Using this European Standard, it is not possible to determine the virucidal activity against bacteriophages of undiluted product as some dilution is always produced by adding the inoculum and interfering substance. For chemical disinfectants that can be used without dilution it is not possible to determine whether these products, at a concentration above 80 % have a virucidal activity against bacteriophages. NOTE The method described is intended to determine the activity of commercial formulations or active substances on viruses (bacteriophages) in the conditions in which they are used. This European Standard is applicable only to disinfectants, complying with the validation test (see annex A).

This document specifies a test method (phase 1) and the minimum requirements for sporicidal activity of chemical disinfectant or antiseptic products that form a homogeneous, physically stable preparation when diluted with water. Products can only be tested at a concentration of 80 % or less as some dilution is always produced by adding the test organisms. This document applies to products that are used in agricultural (but not crop protection), domestic service, food hygiene and other industrial fields, institutional, medical and veterinary applications. NOTE 1 This method cannot be applied for testing sporicidal activity of a product against spores of Clostridium sp. NOTE 2 This document does not evaluate the activity of a product for an intended use. More specific test methods described in European Standards (see Introduction) are used for further assessement of the efficacy of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics for a defined purpose. Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics - Application of European Standards for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics

This European Standard specifies the European Standards to which products have to conform in order to support the claims for microbicidal activity which are referred to in this standard. This European Standard also specifies the terms and definitions which are used in two or more of the European Standards. It is applicable to products for which activity is claimed against the following micro-organisms: vegetative bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, fungal spores and viruses. It is intended to: a) enable manufacturers of products to select the appropriate standards to be used in order to provide data which support their claims for a specific product; b) enable users of the product to assess the information provided by the manufacturer in relation to the use for which they intend to use the product; c) assist competent bodies in assessing claims made by the manufacturer or person responsible for placing the product on the market. It is applicable to products to be used in the area of human medicine, the veterinary area and in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas. In the area of human medicine it is applicable to chemical disinfectants and antiseptics to be used in areas and situations where disinfection or antisepsis are medically indicated. Such indications occur in patient care:  in hospitals, in community medical facilities and dental institutions,  in clinics of schools, of kindergartens and of nursing homes and may also occur in the workplace and in the home. It may also include services such as in laundries and kitchens supplying products directly for the patient. In the veterinary area it is applicable to chemical disinfectants and antiseptics to be used in the areas of breeding, husbandry, production, transport and disposal of animals. It is not applicable to chemical disinfectants used in the food chain following death and entry to the processing industry. In food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas it is applicable to chemical disinfectants and antiseptics to be used in processing, distribution and retailing of food of animal or vegetable origin. It is also applicable to products for all public areas where disinfection is not medically indicated (homes, catering, schools, nurseries, transports, hotels, offices etc.) and products used in packaging, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, cosmetic etc. industries. This European Standard is also applicable to products for which no particular area of application is specified (e.g. active substances under development). The European Standard does not refer to methods for testing the toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of products.


Thermal insulation products for buildings - In-situ formed loose-fill mineral wool (MW) products - Part 1: Specification for the loose-fill products before installation

This part of ISO 14064 specifies principles and requirements at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greehouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. It includes requirements for the design, development, management, reporting and verification of an organization's GHG inventory. ISO 14064 is GHG programme neutral. If a GHG programme is applicable, requirements of that GHG programme are additional to the requirements of ISO 14064. NOTE If a requirement of ISO 14064 prohibits an organization or a GHG project proponent from complying with a requirement of the GHG programme, the requirement of the GHG programme takes precedence.


Thermal insulation products for building equipment and industrial installations - Factory made polyethylene foam (PEF) products - Specification

This amendment modifies EN 14313:2015 identifying those clauses of the standard which are needed for the compliance of this European Standard with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). This amendment introduces: a) an update for the normative references; b) delete 4.3.10 Continuous glowing combustion; c) the reaction to fire classes "A1", "A2" and "F" in Annex A; d) the new Annex ZA; e) editorial changes.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for factory made phenolic foam products which are used for the thermal insulation of building equipment and industrial installations with an operating temperature in the range of approximately - 200 °C to + 120 °C. Below an operating temperature of - 50 °C, special tests regarding the suitability of the products in the intended application are advised (e.g. liquefaction of oxygen). Manufacturer's advice should be heeded in all cases. The products are manufactured in the form of blocks, faced or unfaced, boards, pipe sections, segments and prefabricated ware. This European Standard describes product characteristics and includes procedures for testing, evaluation of conformity, marking and labelling. Products covered by this standard are also used in prefabricated thermal insulating systems and composite panels; the performance of systems incorporating these products is not covered. This European Standard does not specify the required level of a given property that should be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The levels required for a given application can be found in regulations and invitations to tender. Products with a declared thermal conductivity greater than 0,050 W/(m·K) at 10 °C are not covered by this standard. This European Standard does not cover products for in situ-insulation (blowing or pouring) or products for the insulation of the building structure. The products are manufactured in the form of boards or blocks. The standard also covers specially cut shaped boards or blocks. The standard does not specify the required class or level of a given property to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The classes and levels required for a given application are to be found in regulations or non-conflicting standards. For applications where thermal resistance is required, products with a declared thermal resistance lower than 0,25 m²K/W or a declared thermal conductivity greater than 0,060 W/(m K) are not covered by this standard. This standard does not cover in situ insulation products and products intended to be used for the insulation of buildings, of building equipment and industrial installations or products intended for acoustic insulation.


Thermal insulation and light weight fill products for civil engineering applications - Factory made products of extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) - Specification

This European Standard specifies the requirements for factory made products of extruded polystyrene foam which are used for frost insulation of roads, railways, trafficked areas, light weight fill for reduction of horizontal and vertical earth pressure and other civil engineering applications. The products are manufactured in the form of boards, which are also available with special edge and surface treatment (tongue & grooves, shiplap etc.). The standard does not specify the required level of a given property to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The classes and levels required for a given application are to be found in regulations or non-conflicting standards.
