Environmental management -- Environmental communication -- Guidelines and examples

This International Standard gives guidance to an organization on general principles, policy, strategy and activities relating to both internal and external environmental communication. It utilizes proven and wellestablished approaches for communication, adapted to the specific conditions that exist in environmental communication. It is applicable to all organizations regardless of their size, type, location, structure, activities, products and services, and whether or not they have an environmental management system in place. This International Standard is not intended for use as a specification standard for certification or registration purposes or for the establishment of any other environmental management system conformity requirements. It can be used in combination with any of the ISO 14000 series of standards, or on its own. NOTE 1 A reference table to the ISO 14000 series is provided in Annex A. NOTE 2 ISO 14020, ISO 14021, ISO 14024 and ISO 14025 provide specific environmental communication tools and guidance relating to product labels and declarations.


Greenhouse gases -- Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements

This part of ISO 14064 specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of activities intended to cause greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removal enhancements. It includes requirements for planning a GHG project, identifying and selecting GHG sources, sinks and reservoirs relevant to the project and baseline scenario, monitoring, quantifying, documenting and reporting GHG project performance and managing data quality. ISO 14064 is GHG programme neutral. If a GHG programme is applicable, requirements of that GHG programme are additional to the requirements of ISO 14064. NOTE If a requirement of ISO 14064 prohibits an organization or GHG project proponent from complying with a requirement of the GHG programme, the requirement of the GHG programme takes precedence.


Greenhouse gases -- Part 3: Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertions

This part of ISO 14064 specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance for those conducting or managing the validation and/or verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) assertions. It can be applied to organizational or GHG project quantification, including GHG quantification, monitoring and reporting carried out in accordance with ISO 14064-1 or ISO 14064-2. This part of ISO 14064 specifies requirements for selecting GHG validators/verifiers, establishing the level of assurance, objectives, criteria and scope, determining the validation/verification approach, assessing GHG data, information, information systems and controls, evaluating GHG assertions and preparing validation/verification statements. ISO 14064 is GHG programme neutral. If a GHG programme is applicable, requirements of that GHG programme are additional to the requirements of ISO 14064. NOTE If a requirement of ISO 14064 prohibits an organization or GHG project proponent from complying with a requirement of the GHG programme, the requirement of the GHG programme takes preceden

Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear- Part 6: Multiple function equipment - Section 1: Automatic transfer switching equipment

IEC 60947-6-1:2005+A1:2013 applies to transfer switching equipment (TSE) to be used in power systems with interruption of the supply to the load during transfer, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. This consolidated version consists of the second edition (2005) and its amendment 1 (2013). Therefore, no need to order amendment in addition to this publication. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60947-1:2007.


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear- Part 7: ancillary equipment - Section 1: Terminal blocks for copper conductors

IEC 60947-7-1:2009 specifies requirements for terminal blocks with screw-type or screwless-type clamping units primarily intended for industrial or similar use and to be fixed to a support to provide electrical and mechanical connection between copper conductors. lt applies to terminal blocks intended to connect round copper conductors, with or without special preparation, having a cross-section between 0,2 mm2 and 300 mm2 (AWG 24/600 kcmil), intended to be used in circuits of a rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. up to 1 000 Hz or 1 500 V d.c. This standard may be used as a guide for - terminal blocks requiring the fixing of special devices to the conductors, for example quick connect terminations or wrapped connections, etc.; - terminal blocks providing direct contact to the conductors by means of edges or points penetrating the insulation, for example insulation displacement connections, etc.; - special types of terminal blocks, for example with diodes or varistors or similar component holders, etc. Where applicable in this standard, the term "clamping unit" has been used instead of the term terminal. This is taken into account in case of reference to IEC 60947-1. The main technical modifications of this standard since this previous publication are listed below: - added in the scope that this standard may be used as a guide for special types of terminal blocks, for example with diodes or varistors or similar component holders; - the conventional free air thermal current added in 5.2 in the list of information to be stated by the manufacturer; - update of 7.1.4 that the colour combination green-yellow is not allowed for terminal blocks; - the consequences in case of failed single tests and failed tests within test sequences specified in 8.2; - requirements regarding clearances and creepage distances replaced by reference to Annex H of IEC 60947-1, Annex A deleted; - requirements for tightening torques for the tests improved and referenced to Table 4 of IEC 60947-1, Annex C deleted; - in 8.3.3.3 changed reference for pull-out force to IEC 60947-1; - the wording of the test of the voltage drop improved in 8.4.4; - the wording of the short-time withstand current test improved in 8.4.6; - Annex D with additional requirements for test disconnect terminal blocks added. IEC 60947-4-2:2010 applies to a.c. semiconductor motor controllers and starters, which may include a series mechanical switching device, intended to be connected to circuits, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. This standard characterizes a.c. semiconductor motor controllers and starters with and without bypass means. This third edition replaces the second edition published in 1999 and its Amendments 1 (2001) and 2 (2006). It is a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition and its amendments: - updated EMC normative references and associated requirements, - new references to IEC 60947-1, - marking of electronic relays without thermal memory, - marking of tripping time at 0 °C ambient or below, - new test requirements for limits of operation of time-delay overload relays, - new classes of overload current withstand time, - damp heat, salt mist, vibration and shock tests, - short-circuit test in the smallest enclosure, - update of the routine and sampling tests. The contents of the corrigendum of July 2012 have been included in this copy. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60947-1:2007.

This part of IEC 60947 applies to control and protective switching devices (or equipment) (CPS), the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits of rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. CPSs are intended to provide both protective and control functions for circuits and are operated otherwise than by hand. They may also fulfill additional functions, such as isolation. This consolidated version consists of the second edition (2002) and its amendment 1 (2007). Therefore, no need to order amendment in addition to this publication

IEC 60947-1:2007+A1:2010+A2:2014 is to harmonize as far as practicable all rules and requirements of a general nature applicable to low-voltage switchgear and controlgear in order to obtain uniformity of requirements and tests throughout the corresponding range of equipment and to avoid the need for testing to different standards. It bears the edition number 5.1. The technical content is therefore identical to the base edition and its amendment and has been prepared for user convenience. IEC 60947-2:2016+A1:2019 applies to circuit-breakers, the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c.; it also contains additional requirements for integrally fused circuit-breakers. This fifth edition cancels and replaces the fourth edition published in 2006, Amendment 1:2009 and Amendment 2:2013. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant additions with respect to the previous edition: - tests for verification of selectivity in Annex A (see A.5.3); - critical load current tests for d.c. circuit-breakers (see 8.3.9); - new Annex P for circuit-breakers for use in photovoltaic applications; - new Annex R for residual-current circuit-breakers with automatic reclosing functions. The contents of the corrigendum of November 2016 have been included in this copy. This consolidated version consists of the fifth edition (2016) and its amendment 1 (2019). Medical suction equipment - Part 1: Electrically powered suction equipment - Safety requirements

This part of ISO 10079 specifies minimum safety and performance requirements for medical and surgical suction equipment (see Figure 1) for health care facilities such as hospitals, for domiciliary care of patients and for field and transport use. Although such equipment may be driven by centrally powered piped vacuum systems, compressed gases and electricity, or be manually powered for a variety of applications, this part of ISO 10079 addresses only mains electricity- and battery-powered suction equipment. NOTE See also annex M in this part of ISO 10079. ISO 10079-1 is one of a series of International Standards based on IEC 60601-1:1988; in IEC 60601-1 (the "General Standard"), this type of International Standard is referred to as a "Particular Standard". As stated in 1.3 of IEC 60601-1:1988, the requirements of this part of ISO 10079 take precedence over those of IEC 60601-1. High-pressure decorative laminates (HPL). Sheets based on thermosetting resins (usually called laminates). Compact laminate and HPL composite panels for internal and external wall and ceiling finishes

This document specifies the health, safety and energy saving requirements for: • Compact laminate panels/sidings for interior wall and ceiling finishes (including suspended ceilings); • HPL composite panels/sidings for interior wall and ceiling finishes (including suspended ceilings); • Compact laminate panels/sidings for exterior wall and ceiling finishes (including suspended ceilings); • HPL composite panels/sidings for exterior wall and ceiling finishes (including suspended ceilings). It also specifies methods for the evaluation of conformity of the product to the requirements, and includes requirements for marking. It covers only the HPL panels for non-structural applications, and does not cover fixing systems. The products are intended for use as wall and ceiling finishes for internal and external applications according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The scope of this document does not cover: a) overlaid or veneered wood-based panels where the overlay/veneer is not HPL; b) HPL-surfaced wood-based panels intended for use as structural components. These products are covered by EN 13986 (wood-based panels for use in construction). This document covers only characteristics related to health, safety and energy-saving. All other characteristics are covered in separate European Standards for HPL products (see Annex B).


Pigments for the colouring of building materials based on cement and/or lime. Specifications and methods of test

This European Standard specifies the requirements and the test methods for pigments for use in the colouring of building materials based on cement and cement/lime combinations. Pigments covered by this European Standard can also be used in pure lime mortar. For this application see EN 459-1 and EN 459-2. Pigments for this purpose can be single pigments, blends of pigments, or blends of pigments and extenders, in powder or granular form, or aqueous preparations. Pigments typically belong to one of the following classes of compounds: - synthetic or natural oxides and hydroxides of iron; - oxides of chromium, titanium and manganese; - complex inorganic pigments, for example combinations of the above mentioned metal oxides and hydroxides with cobalt, aluminium, nickel and antimony oxides and hydroxides; - ultramarine pigments; - phthalocyanine blue and green; - elemental carbon (should be regarded as an inorganic pigment); - blends of the above materials (which may also include extenders).


Lighting columns. Requirements for reinforced and prestressed concrete lighting columns

This document specifies requirements for reinforced and prestressed concrete lighting columns. It applies to columns not exceeding 20 m height for post top lanterns and columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height for side entry lanterns. This document specifies: a) performance related to the essential requirement of resistance to horizontal (wind) loads, measured in accordance with EN 40-3; b) performance under vehicle impact (passive safety) in support of the Essential Requirement No. 4 Safety in use, measured in accordance with the corresponding test methods included in this document or available in separate European Standards.


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-32: Particular requirements for massage appliances

Add the following to Note 101 as a new second dashed item. • water filled foot massagers; Replace the two dashed items in the fourth paragraph by the following: – persons (including children) whose • physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or • lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction; – children playing with the appliance.


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-34: Particular requirements for motor-compressors

Replace Note 105 with the following: NOTE 105 If motor-compressors for refrigerant R744 used in appliances with a transcritical refrigeration system are equipped with pressure relief devices, compliance with the requirements for these devices is checked during the tests on the final appliance.


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-36: Particular requirements for commercial electric cooking ranges, ovens, hobs and hob elements

This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial cooking and baking ranges, ovens, hobs, hob elements and similar appliances not intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral and 480 V for other appliances. NOTE 101 These appliances are used for example in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial enterprises such as bakeries, butcheries, etc. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is also within the scope of this standard. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by these types of appliances. NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that – For appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; – In many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities. NOTE 103 This standard does not apply to – appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes; – appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); – continuous process appliances for the mass production of food; – steam cookers, forced and steam convection ovens (IEC 60335-2-42); – hot cupboards (IEC 60335-2-49); – microwave ovens (IEC 60335-2-90).


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies - Part 5: Particular requirements for assemblies intended to be installed outdoors in public places - Cable distribution cabinets (CDCs) for power distribution in networks

Substation cable distribution boards (SCDBs) and cable distribution cabinets (CDCs) for power distribution in networks shall comply with all the requirements of IEC 60439-1 (1999) if not otherwise indicated hereinafter and shall also comply with the particular requirements contained in this publication. This standard gives supplementary requirements for substation cable distribution boards (SCDBs) and cable distribution cabinets (CDCs), which are stationary, type-tested assemblies (TTA). They are used for the distribution of electrical energy in three-phase systems. Opentype ASSEMBLY are not covered by this standard. Individual components, such as fuses and switching devices that comply with other standards, shall also comply with the supplementary requirements of this standard. The object of this standard is to state the definitions and to specify the service conditions, construction requirements, technical characteristics and tests for SCDBs and CDCs. Higher performance and test levels may be required for particular networks, for example, those with meshed connections. NOTE 1 If a CDC is equipped with additional equipment (for example meters), in such a way that the main function is changed considerably, then other standards may also apply as agreed between user and manufacturer (see 7.6). NOTE 2 Where local regulations and practices permit, an SCDB or CDC according to this standard may be used in other than public networks. SCDBs are suitable for installation in places where only skilled persons have access for their use; however, outdoor types may be installed in situations which may be accessible to the public. SCDBs are connected to the low voltage terminals of distribution transformers by means of connecting bars, rods or cables. CDCs are for outdoor installation in places which are accessible to the public, and where only skilled persons have access for their use.


Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)

This standard applies to the classification of degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 72,5 kV


Luminaires - Part 2-8: Particular requirements - Handlamps

This part of the IEC 60598 series specifies requirements for handlamps and similar portable luminaires which are held in the hand, hooked up or resting on a surface for use with electric light sources on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made. Handlamps which can be fixed to a support by means of a wing screw, clip or magnet, and luminaires intended for inspection of the interior of barrels, are within the scope of this part of IEC 60598.


Luminaires - Part 2-22: Particular requirements - Luminaires for emergency lighting

This part of IEC 60598 specifies requirements for emergency luminaires for use with electrical lamps on emergency power supplies not exceeding 1 000 V. This part does not cover the effects of non-emergency voltage reductions on luminaires incorporating high pressure discharge lamps. This part gives general requirements for emergency lighting equipment. This part continues to use the term “lamp” which also includes “light source(s)" where appropriate


Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations-Part 2-1: Particular requirements Electronic switches

This standard applies to electronic switches and to associated electronic extension units for household and similar fixed electrical installations either indoors or outdoors. It applies to electronic switches for a.c. only, for the operation of lamp circuits and the control of the brightness of lamps (dimmers) as well as the control of the speed of motors (for example, those used in ventilating fans) and for other purposes (for example, heating controls), with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and a rated current not exceeding 16 A. The operation and/or control as mentioned above are performed by a person via an actuating member, a sensing surface or a sensing unit, by means of touch, proximity, turn, optical, acoustic, thermal or any other influence. This standard also applies to general purpose electronic switches with included automatic functions where the operation and/or the control is d by a change of a physical quantity, for example light, temperature, humidity, time, wind velocity, presence of persons, etc. This standard also applies to boxes for electronic switches, with the exception of mounting boxes for flush-type electronic switches. This standard also applies to electronic RCS and electronic TDS with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 25 A, intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations, either indoors or outdoors. NOTE 1 Switches including only passive components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, PTC and NTC components, varistors, printed wiring boards and connectors are not considered as electronic switches. NOTE 2 Electronic switches may have control circuits with a.c. or d.c. rated control voltages. Electronic switches complying with this standard are suitable for use at ambient temperature not normally exceeding 25 °C but occasionally reaching 35 °C. In locations where special conditions prevail, such as in ships, vehicles and the like and in hazardous locations, for example, where explosions are liable to occur, special constructions may be required. NOTE This standard is not intended to cover devices which are designed to be incorporated in appliances or are intended to be delivered together with a specific appliance and which are within the scope of IEC 60730 or IEC 61058-1. Examples of designs of electronic switches and functions are shown in annex AA. NOTE Electronic switches without a mechanical switch in the main circuit do not provide a “full off-state”. Therefore, the circuit on the load side should be considered to be live.


Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations-Part 2: Particular requirements-Section 2: Electromagnetic remote-control switches (RCS)

This part of IEC 60669 applies to electromagnetic remote-control switches (hereinafter referred to as RCS) with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A, intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations, either indoors or outdoors. The RCS coil may or may not be permanently energized. Electronic RCS are within the scope of IEC 60669-2-1. RCS including only passive components such as resistors, capacitors, PTC and NTC components and printed wiring boards are not considered to be electronic RCS. Contactors are not covered by this standard.


Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations-Part 2: Particular requirements-Section 3: Time-delay switches (TDS)

This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows: Replacement of the first paragraph by: This part of IEC 60669 applies to time-delay switches (hereinafter referred to as TDS) with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A, intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations, either indoors or outdoors, operated by hand and/or by remote control. TDS are provided with a time-delay device operated by mechanical, thermal, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical means or by a combination of them. Electronic TDS are within the scope of IEC 60669-2-1. TDS including only passive components such as resistors, capacitors, PTC and NTC components and printed wiring boards are not considered to be electronic TDS.


Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations-Part 1: General requirements

This part of IEC 60669 applies to manually operated general purpose functional switches, for alternating current (AC) only with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V with a rated current not exceeding 63 A, intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations, either indoors or outdoors. For switches provided with screwless terminals, the rated current is limited to 16 A. NOTE 1 The rated current is limited to 16 A for switches provided with insulation piercing terminals (IPT’s) according to Annex D. Switches covered by this document are, where applicable, intended for the control in normal use of all of the following loads: – a circuit for a tungsten filament lamp load; – a circuit for an externally ballasted lamp load (for example LED, CFL, fluorescent lamp load); – a circuit for a self ballasted lamp load (for example LEDi or CFLi); – a circuit for a substantially resistive load with a power factor not less than 0,95; – a single phase circuit for motor load with a rated current not exceeding 3 A at 250 V (750 VA) and 4,5 A at 120 V (540 VA) and a power factor not less than 0,6. This applies to both switches rated not less than 10 A that have not undergone additional tests and to momentary switches rated not less than 6 A that have not undergone additional tests. NOTE 2 In the following country the suitability of a switch intended to control the inrush current of a motor shall be tested: AU. This document also applies to boxes for switches, with the exception of mounting boxes for flush-type switches. NOTE 3 General requirements for boxes for flush-type switches are given in IEC 60670-1. It also applies to switches such as – switches incorporating pilot lights; – electromagnetic remote control switches (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-2); – switches incorporating a time-delay device (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-3); – combinations of switches and other functions (with the exception of switches combined with fuses); – electronic switches (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-1); – switches having facilities for the outlet and retention of flexible cables (see Annex A); – isolating switches (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-4); – switches and related accessories for use in home and building electronic systems (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-5); – firemen’s switches (particular requirements are given in IEC 60669-2-6). NOTE 4 For lower temperatures see Annex E. Switches complying with this document are suitable only for incorporation in equipment in such a way and in such a place that it is unlikely that the surrounding ambient temperature exceeds +35 °C. In locations where special conditions prevail, such as in ships, vehicles and the like and in hazardous locations, for example where explosions are liable to occur, special construction and/or additional requirements may be required.

This standard applies to starting relays , which are a specfique type of automatic electrical control designed to switch he starting winding of a motor such controle may be built into , or be separate from , the motor.the standard applies to manual controls which are ellectrially and / or mechanically integral witth automatic controls . Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 2-3:Particular requirements for thermal protectors for ballasts for tubular fluorescent lamps

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 1.1 Replacement: This part of IEC 60730 applies to the evaluation of thermal protectors for ballasts for tubular fluorescent lamps. This standard applies to thermal protectors using NTC or PTC thermistors, additional requirements for which are contained in Annex J. Requirements concerning the testing of the combination of ballasts and thermal protectors are given in IEC 61347-1. 1.1.1. This standard applies to the inherent safety, to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety, and to the testing of thermal protectors used to protect ballasts for tubular lamps from overheating. This standard applies to thermal protectors for ballasts within the scope of IEC 61347-2-8. Thermal protectors covered by this standard may be suitable for ballasts for other discharge lamps such as ballasts under the scope of IEC 61347-2-9. Throughout this standard, the word "protector" means "self-resetting thermal ballast protector". 1.1.2 This standard is not applicable to other means used to protect ballasts. 1.1.3. This standard does not apply to a manual device for opening the circuit. 1.2 Replacement: This standard applies to protectors for use with ballasts for use on a.c. supplies up to 690 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. 1.3 Replacement: This standard does not take into account the response value of an automatic action of a control, if such a response value is dependent upon the method of mounting the control in the equipment. Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 2-4:Particular requirements for thermal motor protectors for motor-compressors of hermetic and semi-hermetic type

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 1.1 Replacement: This part of IEC 60730 applies to the partial evaluation of thermal motor protectors as defined in IEC 60730-1 for sealed (hermetic and semi-hermetic type) motor-compressors. A thermal motor protector is an integrated control which is dependent on its correct mounting and fixing in or on a motor and which can only be fully tested in combination with the relevant motor. Requirements concerning the testing of the combination of motor and thermal motor protectors are given in IEC 60335-2-34. This standard applies to thermal motor protectors for motor compressors using NTC or PTC thermistors, additional requirements for which are contained in Annex J . 1.1.1 This standard applies to the inherent safety, to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences, where such are associated with equipment safety, and to the testing of thermal motor protectors used in or on sealed (hermetic and semi-hermetic type) motor-compressors. This standard applies to thermal motor protectors for motor-compressors within the scope of IEC 60335-2-34. Throughout this standard the word "equipment" means "appliance and equipment". Thermal motor protectors for motor compressors not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. This standard does not apply to thermal motor protectors designed exclusively for industrial applications. 1.1.2 This standard does not apply to other means of motor protection. 1.1.3 This standard does not apply to a manual device for opening the circuit. 1.2 Replacement: This standard applies to thermal motor protectors for use with electric motors with a rated voltage equal to or less than 690 V and a rated output of 11 kW or less. Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 2-5:Particular requirements for automatic electrical burner control systems.

This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows: 1.1 Replacement: This part of IEC 60730 applies to automatic electrical burner control systems for the automatic control of burners for oil, gas, coal or other combustibles for household and similar use including heating, air conditioning and similar use. This part 2-5 is applicable to a complete burner control system and to a separate programming unit. This part 2-5 is also applicable to a separate electronic high-voltage ignition source and to a separate flame detector. Separate ignition devices (electrodes, pilot burners, etc.) are not covered by this part 2-5 unless they are submitted as part of a burner control system. Requirements for separate ignition transformers are contained in IEC 60989. Throughout this part 2-5, where it can be used unambiguously, the word "system" means "burner control system" and "systems" means "burner control systems". Systems utilizing thermoelectric flame supervision are not covered by this part 2-5. 1.1.1 This part 2-5 applies to the inherent safety, to the manufacturer's declared operating values, operating times and operating sequences where such are associated with burner safety and to the testing of automatic electrical burner control systems used in, on, or in association with, burners. Requirements for specific operating values, operating times and operating sequences are given in the standards for appliances and equipment. Systems for equipment not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this part 2-5. This part 2-5 applies to systems using NTC or PTC thermistors, additional requirements for which are contained in annex J. EN 60730-2-1 is not applicable to burner control systems. This part 2-5 includes systems responsive to flame properties. 1.4 Replacement: This part 2-5 applies also to systems incorporating electronic devices, requirements for which are contained in annex H.


Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 2-6:Particular requirements for automatic electrical pressure sensing controls including mechanical requirements

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 1.1 Replacement: This part of IEC 60730 applies to automatic electrical pressure sensing controls with a minimum gauge pressure rating of –60 kPa and a maximum gauge pressure rating of 4,2 MPa, for use in, on or in association with, equipment for household and similar use that may use electricity, gas, oil, solid fuel, solar thermal energy, etc. or a combination thereof, including heating, air-conditioning and similar applications. 1.1.1 Replacement: This standard applies to inherent safety, operating values, operating sequences where such are associated with equipment protection, and to the testing of automatic electrical pressure sensing controls used in, on or in association with, household and similar equipment. Throughout this standard, the word "equipment" means "appliance and equipment". This standard does not apply to pressure sensing controls intended exclusively for industrial applications. This standard is also applicable to individual pressure sensing controls utilized as part of a control system or pressure sensing controls which are mechanically integral with multi-functional controls having non-electrical outputs. Automatic electrical pressure sensing controls for equipment not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. This standard is also applicable to controls for appliances within the scope of IEC 60335-1. See also Annex J. 1.1.2 Replacement: This standard applies to automatic electrical controls, mechanically or electrically operated, responsive to or controlling a pressure or vacuum. 1.1.3 Not applicable 1.1.4 Replacement: This standard applies to manual controls when such are electrically and/or mechanically integral with pressure sensing controls. Requirements for manual switches not forming part of an automatic control are contained in IEC 61058-1. Addition: 1.1.101 This standard contains requirements for electrical features of pressure sensing controls and requirements for mechanical features that affect their intended operation. Water quality -- Determination of aluminium -- Atomic absorption spectrometric methods

Describes a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method and a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of aluminium in water. The flame AAS method is applicable to mass concentrations from 5 mg/l to 100 mg/l and the graphite furnace AAS method is applicable to mass concentrations from 10 g/l to 100 g/l in water and waste water.

According to the methods specified in this document nitrite and nitrate by be determined in large sample series and a high analysis frequency. The method includes an automatic dosage.


Water quality -- Determination of phenol index by flow analysis (FIA and CFA)

This International Standard specifies two methods for the determination of the phenol index in waters of different origin (such as ground waters, surface waters, seep waters, and waste waters) in mass concentrations of 0,01 mg/l to 1 mg/l (in the undiluted sample). In particular cases, the range of application may be adapted by varying the operating conditions. Clause 3 describes the determination of phenol index (without distillation) after extraction, and in clause 4 the determination of phenol index (without extraction) after distillation is given.


Chimneys Clay/ceramic flue blocks for single wall chimneys Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the requirements for clay/ceramic flue blocks with solid walls or walls with vertical perforations including bonding and non-bonding blocks and their fittings. Non-bonding flue blocks which have insulation in the vertical perforations or attached to the outer walls are also covered by this standard. This standard specifies the performance requirements for factory-made flue blocks. When they are installed, they will form a part of a multi-wall chimney or a complete chimney which will serve to convey products of combustion from fireplaces or heating appliances to the atmosphere. This standard includes components used for domestic and industrial chimneys which are not structurally independent (free-standing). Testing, marking and inspection requirements are covered by this standard. NOTE 1 Flue blocks covered by this standard are manufactured in three forms : a) single flue ; b) multi-flue ; c) flue/ventilation combination. NOTE 2 Flue blocks may have flues which are either circular, square or rectangular. The joints may have a locating feature such as a rebate.


Chimneys. Requirements for metal chimneys. Metal flue liners and connecting flue pipes

This document specifies the performance requirements for rigid or flexible metal liners, rigid connecting flue pipes and rigid fittings used to convey the products of combustion from appliances to the outside atmosphere (including their supports). Vitreous enamelled connecting flue pipes are also covered by this document. Rigid liners can be used as flue liners for renovation or adaptation of existing chimneys and as flue liners of custom built chimneys. Flexible metal liners described in this document are exclusively for renovation or adaptation of existing chimneys. This document also specifies the requirements for marking, manufacturer's instructions, product information and evaluation of conformity. Flexible connecting flue pipes and extensible flexible products designed to be compressed or extended along their length are excluded from the scope of this document. Single wall and multi-wall system chimney products are covered by EN 1856-1.


Chimneys. Components. Concrete flue liners

This European Standard specifies the material, dimensional and performance requirements, including methods of test, for factory-made concrete flue liners and fittings for the construction of multi-wall chimneys. This standard also applies to storey-height and reinforced flue liners. NOTE 1 Classes in this standard, unless otherwise specified, e.g. temperature pressure, are not derived from conditions referred to in article 3.2 of Directive 89/106/EC, and should only be considered as technical classes in the sense of Commission Guidance Paper E ‘Levels and classes in the Construction Products Directive’. NOTE 2 Any reference to the term flue liners implies both flue liners and their fittings, except where otherwise indicated.

This European Standard specifies the material, dimensional and performance requirements for factory made concrete outer wall elements for chimneys including fittings. The standard covers elements having up to four passages designated to accommodate a combination of flue liners and or air ducts. This European Standard also relates to storey-height and reinforced outer wall elements. NOTE 1 Classes in this standard are not derived from conditions referred to in article 3.2 of Directive 89/106/EC and should only be considered as technical classes in the sense of Commission Guidance Paper E "Levels and classes in the Construction Products Directive”. NOTE 2 Any reference to the term ‘outer wall element’ implies both the outer wall elements and their fittings, except where otherwise indicated.


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-41: Particular requirements for pumps

This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of electric pumps for liquids having a temperature not exceeding 90 °C, intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. NOTE 101 Examples of appliances within the scope of this standard are – aquarium pumps; – pumps for garden ponds; – shower-boost pumps; – sludge pumps; – submersible pumps; – table fountain pumps; – vertical wet pit pumps. Appliances not intended for normal household use, but that nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account – the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; – playing with the appliance by young children. NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that – for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; – in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities. NOTE 103 This standard does not apply to – stationary circulation pumps for heating and service water installations (IEC 60335-2-51); – pumps for flammable liquids; – pumps intended exclusively for industrial purposes; – pumps intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); – pumps incorporating chlorinators of the electrolytic type. NOTE 104 Pumps incorporated in appliances are not covered by this standard unless a specific reference is made.


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-42: Particular requirements for commercial electric forced convection ovens, steam cookers and steam-convection ovens

This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial forced convection ovens, steam cookers, steam-convection ovens and, exclusive of any other use, steam generators, not intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral and 480 V for other appliances. NOTE 101 These appliances are used for example in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial enterprises such as bakeries, butcheries, etc. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is also within the scope of this standard. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by these types of appliances. NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that – for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; – in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities; – in many countries additional requirements are specified for pressure appliances. NOTE 103 This standard does not apply to – appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes; – appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); – continuous process appliances for the mass production of food; – microwave ovens (IEC 60335-2-90);


Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-43: Particular requirements for clothes dryers and towel rails

This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of electric clothes dryers for drying textiles on racks located in a warm airflow and to electric towel rails, for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. NOTE 101 The clothes racks may be fixed or free-standing in a cabinet. The air circulation may be natural or forced. Appliances not intended for normal household use but that nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account – the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; – playing with the appliance by young children. NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that – for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; – in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities. NOTE 103 This standard does not apply to – tumble dryers (IEC 60335-2-11); – appliances intended exclusively for industrial purposes; – appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas).


Miniature fuses - Part 4: Universal Modular Fuse-Links (UMF)

This part of IEC 60127 relates to universal modular fuse-links (UMF) for printed circuits and other substrate systems, used for the protection of electric appliances, electronic equipment, and component parts thereof, normally intended to be used indoors. It does not apply to fuse-links for appliances intended to be used under special conditions, such as in a corrosive or explosive atmosphere. These fuses are normally intended to be mounted or replaced only by appropriately skilled persons using specialized equipment. This standard applies in addition to the requirements of IEC 60127-1. The objectives of this part of IEC 60127 are as given in IEC 60127-1, with the additional requirement of a degree of non-interchangeability.


Joint fillers and sealants. Specification for preformed joint seals

This European Standard specifies requirements for preformed joint seals made of vulcanised rubber for concrete pavements. General requirements for finished joint seals are also given. This European Standard is applicable to joint seals for joints in new concrete pavements and maintenance work in concrete highways.


Stretched ceilings. Requirements and test methods

This document specifies the characteristics, specifications and test methods for stretched ceilings made up of single or multi-layer sheets, coated fabrics or fabrics made up of coated or monofilament yarn with a fastening system. It also specifies the method of conformity assessment for stretched ceilings.


Flexible sheets for waterproofing. Bitumen damp proof courses. Definitions and characteristics

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of flexible sheets of bitumen intended for use as damp proof courses for buildings. It specifies the requirements and test methods and provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products with the requirements of this European Standard. This European Standard does not cover related products such as preformed cavity trays, coping and flashings.


Timber structures. Glued laminated timber. Requirements

This European Standard specifies the requirements for glued laminated timber for use in load bearing structures. It also specifies the requirements for large finger joints in the glued laminated timber. This European Standard specifies the requirements for glued laminated timber produced from untreated timber or from timber treated against biological attack.
