Elastomeric seals. Materials requirements for seals used in pipes and fi ttings carrying gas and hydrocarbon fluids

This European Standard specifies requirements for elastomeric materials used in seals for supply pipes and fittings, ancillaries and valves at operating temperatures in general from - 5 °C up to 50 °C and in special cases from - 15 °C up to 50 °C, for the following: General applications (see Table 4, type G) a) gaseous fuel (manufactured, natural and liquefied petroleum gas [LPG] in gaseous phase); b) hydrocarbon fluids with aromatic content up to 30 % ( V / V ), including LPG in liquid phase. Special applications (see Table 4, type H) Materials suitable for carrying gaseous fuels containing gas condensates and hydrocarbon fluids of unrestricted aromatic content. General requirements for finished joint seals are also given; any additional requirements called for by the particular application are specified in the relevant product standards taking into account that the performance of pipe joints is a function of the seal material properties, seal geometry and pipe joint design. This European Standard should be used where appropriate with product standards which specify performance requirements for joints. This European Standard is applicable to joint seals for all pipeline materials including iron, steel, copper and plastics. In the case of composite seals requirements in 4.2.8 and 4.2.9 apply only when the materials used for any elastomeric parts come into contact with gaseous fuel or hydrocarbon fluid. Elongation at break, tensile strength, compression set and stress relaxation requirements for materials of hardness categories 80 and 90 apply only when they constitute that part of the seal which participates directly in the sealing function or in long term stability. This standard is not applicable to the following: a) seals made from cellular materials; b) seals with enclosed voids as part of their design; c) seals with requirements of resistance to flame or to thermal stress; d) seals which contain splices joining pre-vulcanized profile ends.

This document covers the evaluation of conformity and the factory production control of flat thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass for use in buildings. Note: For glass products with electrical wiring or connections for, e.g. alarm or heating purposes, other directives, e.g. Low Voltage Directive, may apply.


Surfaces for sports areas. Indoor surfaces for multi-sports use. Specification

This European Standard specifies requirements for surfaces for indoor facilities for multi-sports use. It also covers surface systems which include both their supporting and upper layers whether prefabricated, produced in situ or a combination of the two. It also provides for the evaluation of conformity of products to the requirements of this European Standard. This European Standard is not applicable to indoor tennis halls. NOTE "Multi-sports" will be defined by appropriate national provisions


Gypsum elements for suspended ceilings. Definitions, requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the characteristics and performance of factory made cast gypsum elements, for which the main intended uses are the construction of suspended ceilings under universal substrates. It covers the following product performance characteristics: reaction to fire, water vapour permeability, flexural strength (expressed as breaking load) and thermal resistance (expressed as thermal conductivity). The following performance characteristics are linked to systems assembled with gypsum elements for suspended ceilings: fire resistance, direct airborne sound insulation and acoustic absorption, which can be measured according to the corresponding European test methods. If required, tests should be done on assembled system simulating the end use conditions. This European Standard describes the reference tests for technical specifications. This European Standard also covers additional technical characteristics that are of importance for the use and the acceptance of the product by the construction industry and the reference tests for these characteristics. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard. This European Standard does not cover metal ceiling grids or plasterboard products. This European Standard excludes stiffening timber roof truss structure applications.


Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes -Part 1: General requirements

This European Standard applies to products intended to be used with cable with metric sizes (mm²) only. Reference and requirements to AWG and MCM cables and voltages not used in Europe are present in the relevant IEC publication and they are reported in this standard for information only. See Annex ZB for a list of references to AWG/MCM cables or non-European voltages which are excluded from this standard. In this standard delete all reference to products of Series II. Values and corresponding requirements listed as Series II ratings are to be considered as "Other ratings


Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes- Part 2: Dimensional interchangeability for pin and contact-Tube accessories

This standard applies to accessories with screwless type terminals or insulation piercing terminals, with a rated current up to and including 16 A for Series I and 20 A for Series II . NOTE In the following countries, this standard applies to accessories with screwless type terminals or insulation piercing terminals, with a rated current up to and including 32 A for Series I and 30 A for Series II : DE, IT.


Miniature fuses - Part 4: Universal Modular Fuse-Links (UMF)

This part of IEC 60127 relates to universal modular fuse-links (UMF) for printed circuits and other substrate systems, used for the protection of electric appliances, electronic equipment, and component parts thereof, normally intended to be used indoors. It does not apply to fuse-links for appliances intended to be used under special conditions, such as in a corrosive or explosive atmosphere. These fuses are normally intended to be mounted or replaced only by appropriately skilled persons using specialized equipment. This standard applies in addition to the requirements of IEC 60127-1. The objectives of this part of IEC 60127 are as given in IEC 60127-1, with the additional requirement of a degree of non-interchangeability.


Low-voltage fuses-Part 1: General requirements

This part of IEC 60269 is applicable to fuses incorporating enclosed current-limiting fuse-links with rated breaking capacities of not less than 6 kA, intended for protecting power-frequency a.c. circuits of nominal voltages not exceeding 1 000 V or d.c. circuits of nominal voltages not exceeding 1 500 V. Subsequent parts of this standard, referred to herein, cover supplementary requirements for such fuses intended for specific conditions of use or applications. Fuse-links intended to be included in fuse-switch combinations according to IEC 60947-3 should also comply with the following requirements. NOTE 1 For "a" fuse-links, details of performance (see 2.2.4) on d.c. circuits should be subject to agreement between user and manufacturer. NOTE 2 Modifications of, and supplements to, this standard required for certain types of fuses for particular applications – for example, certain fuses for rolling stock, or fuses for high-frequency circuits – will be covered, if necessary, by separate standards. NOTE 3 This standard does not apply to miniature fuses, these being covered by IEC 60127. The object of this standard is to establish the characteristics of fuses or parts of fuses (fusebase, fuse-carrier, fuse-link) in such a way that they can be replaced by other fuses or parts of fuses having the same characteristics provided that they are interchangeable as far as their dimensions are concerned. For this purpose, this standard refers in particular to – the following characteristics of fuses:  their rated values;  their insulation;  their temperature rise in normal service;  their power dissipation and acceptable power dissipation;  their time/current characteristics;  their breaking capacity;  their cut-off current characteristics and their I2t characteristics. – type test for verification of the characteristics of fuses; – the marking of fuses.


Low-voltage fuses-Part 3: Supplementary requirements for fuses for use by unskilled persons (Fuses

Fuses for use by unskilled persons according to the following fuse systems comply with all subclauses of IEC 60269-1 and with the requirements laid down in the relevant fuse systems. This standard is divided into six four fuse systems, each dealing with a specific example of standardized fuses for use by unskilled persons: • Fuse system A: D type fuse system • Fuse system B: Cylindrical fuses (NF cylindrical fuse system) • Fuse system C: Cylindrical fuses (BS cylindrical fuse system) NOTE 1 Examples of standardized fuses complying with the requirements of IEC 60269-1 are listed in the present standard. Other examples may be added, provided that they comply with these requirements. For recommendations for future designs of fuses, see Annex CC. NOTE 2 The following fuse systems are standardized systems with respect to their safety aspects. The National Committees may select from the examples of standardized fuses one or more systems for their own standards. Colour codes are not specified for each fuse system. Where colour codes are indicated, they apply only to that particular fuse syste


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies-Part 1: Type-tested and partially type-tested assemblies

This International Standard applies to low-voltage switchgear and controlgear ASSEMBLIES (type-tested ASSEMBLIES (TTA) and partially type-tested ASSEMBLIES (PTTA)), the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. at frequencies not exceeding 1 000 Hz, or 1 500 V d.c. This standard also applies to ASSEMBLIES incorporating control and/or power equipment, the frequencies of which are higher. In this case, appropriate additional requirements will apply. This standard applies to stationary or movable ASSEMBLIES with or without enclosure. NOTE Additional requirements for certain specific types of assemblies are given in supplementary IEC standards. This standard applies to ASSEMBLIES intended for use in connection with the generation, transmission, distribution and conversion of electric energy, and for the control of electric energy consuming equipment. It also applies to ASSEMBLIES designed for use under special service conditions, for example in ships, in rail vehicles, for hoisting equipment or in explosive atmospheres, and for domestic (operated by unskilled persons) applications, provided that the relevant specific requirements are complied with. This standard applies also to ASSEMBLIES designed for electrical equipment of machines. However, where applicable the additional requirements of IEC 60204-1 have to be fulfilled. This standard does not apply to individual devices and self-contained components, such as motor starters, fuse switches, electronic equipment, etc. complying with their relevant standards. The object of this standard is to lay down the definitions and to state the service conditions, construction requirements, technical characteristics and tests for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear ASSEMBLIES.


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies - Part 2: Particular requirements for busbar trunking systems (busways)

Add the following paragraphs: This International Standard applies to busbar trunking systems (BTS) and their accessories for feeding and distributing electrical power in residential, retail, public, agricultural and industrial premises. It also applies to busbar trunking systems which are designed to incorporate communication and/or control systems or intended to supply luminaires through tap-off units but does not apply to supply track systems in accordance with IEC 60570. The busbar trunking systems considered in this standard are type-tested ASSEMBLIES (TTA) when tested in accordance with clause 8 of this standard; variations in length and angles of bends are considered to be covered. Tap-off units may be partially type-tested ASSEMBLIES (PTTA).


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies-Part 3: Particular requirements for assemblies for Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies intended to be installed in places where unskilled persons have access for their use

This standard gives supplementary requirements for such enclosed distribution boards (DBU), which are stationary, type tested assemblies (TTA) for indoor use, containing protective devices and intended for use either in domestic (household) applications or in other places where unskilled persons have access for their use. Control and/or signalling devices may also be included. They are for use on a.c., with a nominal voltage to earth not exceeding 300 V. The outgoing circuits contain short-circuit protective devices, each having a rated current not exceeding 125 A with a total incoming load current not exceeding 250 A. NOTE The nominal voltage to earth in an IT system is taken as the nominal voltage of the system. Unskilled persons normally have access to these assemblies, e.g. for switching operations and for replacing fuse-links


Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies-Part 4: Particular requirements for assemblies for construction sites (ACS)

Replace the last three paragraphs by the following: This standard applies to type-tested ASSEMBLIES (TTA) intended for use on construction sites, i.e. temporary places of work to which the public do not generally have access and where building construction, installation, repairs, alteration or demolition of property (buildings) or civil engineering (public works) or excavation or any other similar operations are carried out. These ASSEMBLIES may be transportable (semi-fixed) or mobile. This standard does not apply to ASSEMBLIES for use in the administrative centres of construction sites (offices, cloakrooms, ASSEMBLY rooms, canteens, restaurants, dormitories, toilets, etc.). The nominal primary voltage and the nominal secondary voltage of transformers incorporated in ACS shall be within the limits specified in IEC 60439-1. Requirements for electrical protection provided by equipment manufactured according to this International Standard shall comply with the requirements given in IEC 60364-7-704. NOTE This standard may be used as a guide to partially type-tested ASSEMBLIES (PTTA) constructed according to agreement between manufacturer and user taking into account the nature of supply and/or distribution network and relevant installation requirements


Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 2-7:Particular requirements for timers and time switches

This clause of Part 1 is replaced as follows: 1.1 In general, this standard applies to timers and time switches for household and similar use that may use electricity, gas, oil, solid fuel, solar thermal energy, etc. or a combination thereof, including heating, air conditioning and similar applications. Throughout this standard the word “timers” means timers and time switches, unless the type is specifically mentioned. Devices which only indicate time or passage of time are not included. This standard does not apply to multi-functional controls having an integrated timing function which is not capable of being tested as a separate timing device. This standard does not apply to time-delay switches (T.D.S.) within the scope of IEC 669-2-3. This standard is also applicable to individual timers utilized as part of a control system or timers which are mechanically integral with multifunctional controls having non-electrical outputs. 1.1.1 This standard applies to the inherent safety, to the operating values, operating sequences where such are associated with equipment protection, and to the testing of timers used in, on or in association with household and similar equipment. This standard is also applicable to timers for appliances within the scope of IEC 335. 1.1.2 This standard applies to manual controls when such are electrically and/or mechanically integral with timers. Manual switches not forming part of an automatic control shall comply with IEC 1058-1. 1.2 This standard applies to controls with a rated voltage not exceeding 660 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A. 1.3 This standard does not take into account the response value of an automatic action of a control, if such a response value is dependent upon the method of mounting the control in the equipment. Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use-Part 1:General requirements

1.1 In general, this standard applies to automatic electrical controls for use in, on, or in association with equipment for household and similar use, including controls for heating, air-conditioning and similar applications. The equipment may use electricity, gas, oil, solid fuel, solar thermal energy, etc., or a combination thereof. 1.1.1 This standard applies to the inherent safety; to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety; and to the testing of automatic electrical control devices used in, or in association with, household or similar equipment. This standard is also applicable to controls for appliances within the scope of IEC 60335-1. Throughout this standard the word "equipment" means "appliance and equipment." This standard does not apply to automatic electrical controls intended exclusively for industrial applications unless explicitly mentioned in the relevant Part 2. This standard is also applicable to individual controls utilized as part of a control system or controls which are mechanically integral with multifunctional controls having non-electrical outputs. Automatic electrical controls for equipment not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. Joint fillers and sealants. Specification for preformed joint seals

This European Standard specifies requirements for preformed joint seals made of vulcanised rubber for concrete pavements. General requirements for finished joint seals are also given. This European Standard is applicable to joint seals for joints in new concrete pavements and maintenance work in concrete highways.


Stretched ceilings. Requirements and test methods

This document specifies the characteristics, specifications and test methods for stretched ceilings made up of single or multi-layer sheets, coated fabrics or fabrics made up of coated or monofilament yarn with a fastening system. It also specifies the method of conformity assessment for stretched ceilings.


Flexible sheets for waterproofing. Bitumen damp proof courses. Definitions and characteristics

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of flexible sheets of bitumen intended for use as damp proof courses for buildings. It specifies the requirements and test methods and provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products with the requirements of this European Standard. This European Standard does not cover related products such as preformed cavity trays, coping and flashings.


Timber structures. Glued laminated timber. Requirements

This European Standard specifies the requirements for glued laminated timber for use in load bearing structures. It also specifies the requirements for large finger joints in the glued laminated timber. This European Standard specifies the requirements for glued laminated timber produced from untreated timber or from timber treated against biological attack.


Lighting columns. Requirements for steel lighting columns

This European Standard specifies requirements for steel lighting columns. It includes materials and conformity control. It applies to post top columns not exceeding 20 m height for post top lanterns and to columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height for side entry lanterns. This European Standard specifies performance related to the essential requirements of resistance to horizontal (wind) loads and performance under vehicle impact (passive safety) in support of the Essential Requirement No 4 Safety in use measured according to the corresponding test methods included in this European Standard or available in separate European Standards. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products to this European Standard.


Lighting columns. Requirements for aluminium lighting columns

This European Standard specifies requirements for aluminium lighting columns. It includes materials and conformity control. It applies to post top columns not exceeding 20 m height for post top lanterns and to columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height for side entry lanterns. Chimneys. System chimneys with clay/ceramic flue liners. Requirements and test methods for sootfire resistance

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for multiwall soot fire resistant system chimneys, working under dry conditions, with corrosion resistance 3, with negative pressure (see EN 1443) in which the products of combustion are conveyed to the atmosphere through clay/ceramic flue liners. Marking and inspection are also covered by this standard. This standard does not apply to structurally independent (free standing or self-supporting) system chimneys. A soot fire resistant system chimney has the following items where appropriate:  clay/ceramic flue liners;  Insulation layer;  outer walls;  mortar for jointing flue liners;  mortar for jointing outer walls;  terminal;  chimney base;  cladding;  opening section;  cleaning and inspection door;  distance piece;  reinforcement. The soot fire resistant chimney covers a combination of compatible chimney components, obtained or specified from one manufacturing source with product responsibility for the whole chimney.


Timber structures. Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section. General requirements

This European Standard specifies the requirements for visual and machine graded structural timber with rectangular cross-sections shaped by sawing, planing or other methods, and having deviations from the target sizes corresponding to EN 336. This European Standard covers structural rectangular timber, untreated or treated against biological attack. This European Standard does not cover timber treated by fire retardant products. This European Standard identifies as a minimum the characteristics for which limits shall be given in visual grading rules. Finger jointed timber is not covered in this European Standard.


Timber structures. Product requirements for prefabricated structural members assembled with punched metal plate fasteners

This document specifies product requirements for prefabricated structural members (e.g. trusses, beams and girders) for use in buildings and bridges made from members of structural timber (with or without finger joints) assembled with punched metal plate fasteners. The standard also covers methods to carry out the evaluation of conformity and the marking.


Timber structures. Structural laminated veneer lumber. Requirements

This document specifies the requirements for laminated veneer lumber for structural applications. The tests to be used, methods to carry out the evaluation of conformity and content of the marking of the product are given. This document does not cover laminated veneer lumber treated against biological attack or fire.


Wood flooring. Characteristics, evaluation of conformity and marking

This document defines and specifies for wood and parquet flooring the relevant characteristics and the appropriate test methods to determine these characteristics for internal use as flooring. It also applies to wood veneer floor coverings. This document covers flooring defined in EN 13226, EN 13227, EN 13228, EN 13488, EN 13489, EN 13990, EN 13629, prEN 14761 and EN 14354. It does not specify dimensional limits or tolerances, which are given by these same standards. It provides for the evaluation of conformity and the requirements for marking these products. This document does not apply to products sold as tactile surfaces or to aid visibility, e.g. products sold with tactile or visible strip applied.


Chimneys. System chimneys with clay/ceramic flue liners. Requirements and test methods under wet conditions

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for multiwall system chimneys working under wet conditions (in the following expressed as “wet chimney”) with pressure type N1, N2 or P1 according to EN 1443 and a working temperature below or equal T600 according to !EN 13063-1:2005+A1", in which the products of combustion are conveyed to the atmosphere through clay/ceramic flue liners. Marking and inspection are also covered by this document. This European Standard does not apply to structurally independent (free standing or self-supporting) system chimneys. The wet chimney may comprise the following appropriate components:  clay/ceramic flue liners;  insulation layer;  outer walls;  acid resistant mortar for jointing flue liners or elastomeric sealant;  mortar for jointing outer walls;  terminal;  chimney base;  condensate collector;  condensate outlet;  cladding;  opening section;  cleaning and inspection door;  distance piece;  reinforcement. The wet system chimney covers a combination of compatible chimney components, obtained or specified from one manufacturing source with product responsibility for the whole system chimney. NOTE This document does not cover soot fire resistance chimneys. NL


Chimneys. Clay/ceramic outer walls for system chimneys. Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements for factory-made clay/ceramic chimney outer wall elements used to form the outer walls of chimneys and which are used in combination with flue liners in site. It applies to clay/ceramic chimney outer wall elements with solid walls or walls with vertical perforations (see Figure 1) which have square, rectangular or circular passages. Testing, making and inspection requirements are covered by this standard. Figure 1 - Examples of clay/ceramic chimney outer wall elements with and without vertical perforations


Chimneys. Requirements and test methods for clay/ceramic flue terminals

This European Standard specifies the requirements for clay/ceramic flue terminals with solid walls, which serve to convey the products of combustion from the flue to the atmosphere by negative pressure. It includes terminals used on domestic and industrial chimneys which are not structurally independent (freestanding). This standard specifies the performance requirements for factory made terminals. Testing, marking and inspection are covered by this standard.


Chimneys. System chimneys with plastic flue liners. Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods for system chimneys with plastic flue liners used to convey the products of combustion from appliances to the outside atmosphere under dry and wet conditions. It also specifies the requirements for marking, manufacturer's instructions and evaluation of conformity. This European Standard describes chimney components from which system chimneys can be assembled. This European Standard is not applicable to chimneys with sootfire resistance classification class G. This European Standard is not applicable for chimneys with the following classification:  corrosion resistance class 2 concerning natural wood2);  corrosion resistance class 3;  pressure class N2. This European Standard is applicable to chimneys constructed so that no condensate concentration can occur e.g. with a minimum inclination of 3 ° to the horizontal. This European Standard is only applicable to system chimneys with plastic flue liners and is not applicable for system chimneys with plastic coated flue liners. This European Standard is not applicable to structurally independent (free-standing or self-supporting) chimneys.


Geotextiles and geotextile-related products. Characteristics required for use in the construction of roads and other trafficked areas (excluding railways and asphalt inclusion)

This European Standard specifies the relevant characteristics of geotextiles and geotextile-related products used in the construction of roads and other trafficked areas (excluding railways and asphaltic inclusion), and the appropriate test methods to determine these characteristics. The intended use of these geotextiles or geotextile-related products is to fulfil one or more of the following functions: filtration, separation and reinforcement. The separation function is always used in conjunction with filtration or reinforcement, accordingly separation will never be specified alone. This standard is not applicable to geomembranes. This standard provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard and for factory production control procedures. This standard defines requirements to be met by manufacturers and distributors with regard to the presentation of product properties. This document specifies the relevant characteristics of geosynthetic barriers, including polymeric geosynthetic barriers, clay geosynthetic barriers and bituminous geosynthetic barriers, to be used as fluid barriers in the construction of reservoirs and dams, and the appropriate test methods to determine these characteristics. The intended use of these products is to control the leakage of water through the construction. This document is not applicable to geotextiles or geotextile-related products. This document provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this document. This document defines requirements to be met by manufacturers and their authorised representatives with regard to the presentation of product properties. This document does not cover applications where the geosynthetic barrier is to be in contact with water that has been treated for human consumption. Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates. Product standard. Products without fire resistance or smoke control characteristics

1.1 General This European Standard specifies the safety and performance requirements for doors, gates and barriers, intended for installation in areas in the reach of persons, and for which the main intended uses are giving safe access for goods and vehicles accompanied or driven by persons in industrial, commercial or residential premises. This European Standard also covers commercial doors such as rolling shutters and rolling grilles used in retail premises which are mainly provided for the access of persons rather than vehicles or goods. These doors can include pass doors incorporated in the door leaf which are also covered by this European Standard. These devices can be manually or power operated. This European Standard does not cover operation in environments where the electromagnetic disturbances are outside the range of those specified in EN 61000-6-3. 1.2 Exclusions This European Standard does not apply to the following which are intended for a different use:  lock gates and dock gates;  doors on lifts;  doors on vehicles ;  armoured doors;  doors mainly for the retention of animals;  theatre textile curtains;  horizontally moving manually operated pedestrian doors with a leaf size less than 6,25 m²;  horizontally moving power operated doors less than 2,5 m wide and 6,25 m² area, designed principally for pedestrian use in accordance with prEN 12650-1;  revolving doors of any size;  railway barriers;  barriers used solely for vehicles. This European Standard does not cover the radio part of doors. If a radio operating device is used, the relevant ETSI standards should be applied in addition. This European Standard does not contain any specific requirements for fire resistance or smoke control characteristics which are covered in prEN 13241-2. This European Standard does not contain any specific requirement regarding noise emitted by a door in relation with the Machinery Directive. This European Standard does not contain any specific requirement for doors which are moving because of energy stored by dedicated means from human power such as manually tensioned springs. NL EN 13241-1:2010 EN 13241-1:2003 (E) 7 This European Standard does not contain any specific requirements for doors on escape routes. The ability to open the door leaf safely and easily cannot normally be achieved by industrial, commercial and garage doors due to size, weight and/or mode of operation. 1.3 Specific applications This European Standard should also apply to power operated doors which have been created by the addition of power operation to an installed manual door in respect of the relevant requirements. Annex ZA does not apply to this kind of door . It also identifies requirements and classes of performance for additional characteristics considered to be of importance to the trade. When a door is part of the load carrying structure of the building the requirements of this European Standard can apply on a voluntary basis in addition to the requirements for the load carrying structure, which are not dealt with in this European Standard. Annex ZA does not apply for this kind of doors


External blinds. Performance requirements including safety

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements which external blinds shall fulfil when fitted to a building. It deals also with the significant hazards for construction, transport, installation, operation and maintenance of the external blinds (see list of significant machine hazards in annex B). It applies to all external blinds as well as similar products whatever their design and nature of the materials used, as follows and defined in EN 12216: − folding arm awning, trellis arm awning, pivot arm awning, slide arm awning, vertical roller awning, marquisolette, façade awning, skylight awning, conservatory awning, Dutch awning, insect screen; − solar screen. This European Standard does not cover the wind resistance of fixed nor semi-fixed products, e.g. Dutch awnings, fixed or mobile and solar screen. They are not exempt from wind resistance requirements although no test methods have been established at the present time. The products covered by this European Standard may be operated manually, with or without compensating springs or by means of electric motors (power operated products). This document is not applicable to external blinds which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document.


Shutters — Performance requirements including safety

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements which shutters shall fulfil when fitted to a building. It deals also with the significant hazards for construction, transport, installation, operation and maintenance of the shutters (see list of significant machine hazards in annex C). It applies to all shutters as well as similar products whatever their use and nature of the materials used, as follows: — external Venetian blind, roller shutter, wing shutter, Venetian shutter, flat-closing concertina shutter, concertina shutter or sliding panel shutter, with or without a system of projection. These products can be operated manually with or without compensating spring, or by means of electric motors (power operated products). This document is not applicable to shutters which are manufactured before the date of application of this document by CEN.


Windows and doors. Product standard, performance characteristics. Windows and external pedestrian doorsets without resistance to fire and/or smoke leakage characteristics

This European Standard identifies material independent performance characteristics that are applicable to windows (including roof windows, roof windows with external fire resistance and French windows), external pedestrian doorsets (including unframed glass doorsets, escape route doorsets) and screens. This European Standard applies to:  Manually or power operated windows, French windows and screens for installation in vertical wall apertures and roof windows for installation in inclined roofs, complete with: • related hardware, if any; • weather stripping, if any; • glazed apertures when intended to have glazed apertures; • with or without incorporated shutters and/or shutterboxes and/or blinds; and manually or power operated windows, roof windows, French windows and screens that are • fully or partially glazed including any non-transparent infill; • fixed or partly fixed or openable with one or more casements/sashes (e.g. hinged, projecting, pivoted, sliding).  Manually or power operated external pedestrian doorsets with flush or panelled leaves, complete with: • integral fanlights, if any; • adjacent parts that are contained within a single frame for inclusion in a single aperture, if any. The products covered by this European Standard are not assessed for structural applications. This European Standard does not apply to:  windows and pedestrian doorsets subject to regulations on smoke leakage and resistance to fire according to prEN 14351-3 but individual characteristics and performance requirements given in clause 4 can be relevant for these doors and windows (see prEN 14351-3);  rooflights according to EN 1873 and prEN 14963;  curtain walling according to EN 13830;  industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates according to EN 13241-1;  internal pedestrian doorsets according to prEN 14351-2 but individual characteristics and performance requirements given in clause 4 can be relevant for internal doors (see prEN 14351-2);  revolving doorsets;  windows for escape routes.


Workshop fabricated steel tanks. Horizontal cylindrical single skin and double skin tanks for the aboveground storage of flammable and non-flammable water polluting liquids

This document specifies the requirements for metallic shop fabricated cylindrical, horizontal steel tanks, single and double skin for the aboveground storage of water polluting liquids (both flammable and non-flammable) within the following limits:  from 800 mm up to 3 000 mm nominal diameter and,  up to a maximum overall length of 6 times the nominal diameter and,  for liquids with a maximum density of up to 1,9 kg/l and,  with an operating pressure (Po) of maximum 1,5 bar (abs.) and,  where double skin tanks with a vacuum leak detection system are used the cinematic viscosity of the stored media shall not exceed 5 × 10-3 m2/s. This document is applicable for normal ambient temperature conditions (- 20 °C to + 50 °C). Where temperatures are outside this range, additional requirements need to be taken into account. This document is not applicable for the storage of liquids having dangerous good classes listed in Table 1 because of the special dangers involved. Copper and copper alloys. Seamless, round copper tubes for water and gas in sanitary and heating applications

This European Standard specifies the requirements, sampling, test methods and conditions of delivery for seamless round copper tubes. It is applicable to tubes having an outside diameter from 6 mm up to and including 267 mm for:  distributing networks for hot water and cold water;  hot water heating systems, including panel heating systems (under-floor, wall, overhead);  domestic gas and liquid fuel distribution;  waste water sanitation. It is also applicable to seamless round copper tubes intended to be pre-insulated before use for any of the above purposes.
