Tests for Geometrical Properties of Aggregates - Part 3: Determination of Particle Shape - Flakiness Index

This European Standard describes the reference method, used for type testing and in case of dispute, for determination of the flakiness index of aggregates. For other purposes, in particular production control, other methods may be used, provided that an appropriate working relationship with the reference method has been established. This European Standard applies to natural, manufactured or recycled aggregates. The test procedure specified in this part of this European Standard is not applicable to particle sizes less than 4 mm or greater than 100 mm.

Portable lead-acid cells and batteries (Valve regulated types)- Part 1: General requirements, functional characteristics- Methods of test

IEC 61056-1:2012 specifies the general requirements, functional characteristics and methods of test for all general purpose lead-acid cells and batteries of the valve-regulated type: - for either cyclic or float charge application; - in portable equipment, for instance, incorporated in tools, toys, or in static emergency, or uninterruptible power supply and general power supplies. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition of IEC 61056-1 published in 2002. It constitutes a technical revision. The main changes consist in adding new battery designations and an update of the requirements like the one concerning the marking.

Portable lead-acid cells and batteries (Valve regulated types)- Part 2: Dimensions, terminals and marking

This part of IEC 61056 specifies the dimensions, terminals and marking for all general purpose lead-acid cells and batteries of the valve regulated type : • for either cyclic or float charge application; • in portable equipment, for instance, incorporated in tools, toys, or in static emergency, or uninterruptible power supply and general power supplies. The cells of this kind of lead-acid battery may either have flat-plate electrodes in prismatic containers or have spirally wound pairs of electrodes in cylindrical containers. The sulphuric acid in these cells is immobilized between the electrodes either by absorption in a microporous structure or in a gelled form. This standard defines the dimensions of the batteries in length, height and width, as well as the shapes of the terminals. The lead-acid cells and batteries which are described in this standard should be tested according to the requirements of IEC 61056-1. This part of IEC 61056 does not apply for example to lead-acid cells and batteries used for • vehicle engine starting applications (IEC 60095 series), • traction applications (IEC 60254 series) or • stationary applications (IEC 60896 series). Conformance to this standard requires that dimensions, terminals and marking correspond to these requirements.

Paints and varnishes – Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures by Protective Paint Systems - Part 3: Design Considerations

This document deals with the basic criteria for the design of steel structures to be coated by protective paint systems in order to avoid premature corrosion and degradation of the coating or the structure. It gives examples of appropriate and inappropriate design, indicating how problems of application, inspection and maintenance of paint systems can be avoided. Design measures which facilitate handling and transport of the steel structures are also considered.

Paints and varnishes – Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures by Protective Paint Systems - Part 4: Types of Surface & Surface Preparation

This document covers the following types of surfaces of steel structures consisting of carbon or low-alloy steel, and their preparation: — uncoated surfaces; — surfaces thermally sprayed with zinc, aluminium or their alloys; — hot-dip-galvanized surfaces; — zinc-electroplated surfaces; — sherardized surfaces; — surfaces painted with prefabrication primer; — other painted surfaces. This document defines a number of surface preparation grades but does not specify any requirements for the condition of the substrate prior to surface preparation. Highly polished surfaces and work-hardened surfaces are not covered by this document.

Low-pressure, non adjustable regulators having a maximum outlet pressure of less than or equal to 200 mbar, with a capacity of less than or equa l to 4kg/h, and their associated safety devices for butane, propane or their mixtures

This European Standard defines the structural and operational characteristics, the safety requirements and test methods, the marking, of low-pressure, non adjustable regulators for butane, propane or their mixtures, referred to in body of the text as “regulators”. This European Standard covers regulators supplied at vapour pressure by one or several portable cylinders. They are normally directly connected to the cylinder vale or the self closing valve. The regulators covered by this standard are designed for a maximum outlet pressure of up to and including 200 mbar and a maximum rate of up to and including 4 kg/h. this European Standard also applies to the safety devices which are supplied as part of the regulators. The characteristics of these devices are given in annex A and B. The requirement of this European Standard apply generally to regulators used in location where temperature likely to be reached during use is between – 200 C and +50 0C,+50 0C being the maximum temperature allowable for the cylinder. When the devices are subjected to temperatures below this range, they shall comply with special requirements defined in annex C. Regulators designed for specific purposes (caravans and motor caravans) which are subjected to special requirements are dealt with in annex D. This European Standard does not include the installation rules for regulators and their possible associated safety devices. In this matter, reference should be made to national regulations in force in the member countries. Regulators which are intended to be used with gases containing methylacetylene and propadiene are excluded from the scope of this European Standard. WARNING NOTICE: The figures in annexes G and H show the types of connections used according to the country of use of the regulators. The top part of these figures (above the horizontal line) applies to the regulator and is normative. The bottom part of these figures (below the horizontal line) applies to the tap (or the valve) to which the regulator if field. This I given as a guide for the tests and is not normative.

Child care articles - Reclined cradles

This standard specifies safety requirements and the corresponding test methods for fixed or folding reclined cradles intended for children up to a weight of 9 kg or who are unable to sit up unaided. This standard applies also to car seats complying with ECE 44 that can be used as reclined cradles according to manufacturer’s instructions. This standard does not apply to reclined cradles when used as swings. If a reclined cradle has several functions or can be converted into another function the relevant European standards apply to it (see Annex B).

Paints and varnishes – Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures by Protective Paint Systems - Part 6: Laboratory Performance Test Methods

This document specifies laboratory test methods and test conditions for the assessment of paint systems for the corrosion protection of carbon steel structures. The test results are intended to be considered as an aid in the selection of suitable paint systems and not as exact information for determining durability. This document covers protective paint systems designed for application to uncoated steel, hot dip galvanized steel according to ISO 1461 and steel surfaces with thermal-sprayed metallic coating according to ISO 2063-1 and ISO 2063-2. This document does not apply to protective paint systems for electroplated or painted steel. The environments for corrosivity categories C2 to C5 and Im1 to Im3 defined in ISO 12944-2 are considered.

Paints and varnishes – Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures by Protective Paint Systems - Part 7: Execution & Supervision of Paint Work

This document deals with the execution and supervision of paint work on steel structures in the workshop or on site. This document does not apply to — the preparation of surfaces to be painted (see ISO 12944-4) and the supervision of such work, — the application of metallic coatings, and — pre-treatment methods, such as phosphating and chromating, and paint application methods, such as dipping, powder coating or coil coating.

Paints and varnishes – Corrosion Protection of SteelStructures by Protective Paint Systems - Part 8: Development of Specifications for New Work & Maintenance

This document covers the development of specifications for corrosion protection of steel structures using protective paint systems. It relates to new work and maintenance in the workshop or on site and is also applicable to the corrosion protection of individual components. This document covers the corrosion protection of steel structures exposed to different corrosion stresses by environments such as indoors, open-air and immersion in water or burial in soil, as well as special stresses, due for example, to medium or high temperatures. The need for different durability ranges is considered. Steel surfaces that have been hot-dip-galvanized, metal-sprayed, zinc-electroplated or sherardized, and previously painted steel surfaces, are also covered by this document. In this document, reference areas for assessing the quality of the corrosion protection work and the performance of the protective paint systems used are dealt with. This document provides detailed flow charts for planning new
