This European Standard specifies general requirements for structures and equipment as they relate to wastewater treatment plants for a total population of more than 50 PT. The primary application is designed for wastewater treatment plants for the treatment of domestic and municipal wastewater. Requirements for structures which are not specific for wastewater treatment plants are not within the scope of this European Standard. Other ENs can apply. Equipment which is not solely used in wastewater treatment plants is subject to the applicable product standards. However, specific requirements for such equipment when used in wastewater treatment plants are included in this part. General principles of building construction, mechanical and electrical engineering are not subject of this standard. This European Standard does not cover the design of treatment processes. Wastewater treatment plants - Part 3: Preliminary treatment

This part of this European Standard specifies the requirements for preliminary treatment of wastewater at wastewater treatment plants for over 50 PT. The primary application is for wastewater treatment plants designed for the treatment of domestic and municipal wastewater. Preliminary treatment may include one or more of the following options: — screening; — grit removal, — grease separation; NL EN 12255-3:2014 Page 4 EN 12255-3:2000 — flow balancing and flow separation. Wastewater treatment plants - Part 5: Lagooning processes

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements for the installation of lagooning processes. This part applies to wastewater lagooning processes treating municipal wastewater from combined or separate sewerage systems and when used as a tertiary treatment. NL EN 12255-5:2014 Page 4 EN 12255-5:1999 NOTE : Lagooning processes are especially suitable for treatment of wastewater where large variations in flow are experienced (e.g. resulting from stormwater).

Biological fixed film reactors include biological trickling filters, rotating biological contactors, submerged bed reactors and biofilters. Wastewater treatment plants - Part 10: Safety principles

This European Standard is for the protection of employees and defines safety requirements for wastewater treatment plants to be constructed or reconstructed as follows: – for structures and parts of structures where safety factors have to be taken into account; – all components of the technical equipment, as far as safety requirements have to be observed in the planning and construction of these parts of the plant. It may be possible that national regulations exceed the requirements laid down in this standard. In this case these requirements shall be precisely described. Special safety requirements, e.g. in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering which are dealt with in other regulations shall be observed although they are not mentioned specifically in this standard. This standard is of relevance only to new wastewater treatment plants and new parts for existing plants designed and constructed after the effective date. This European Standard specifies requirements for control and automation systems on wastewater treatment plants for more than 50 PT. If necessary, the control system should also be designed to cover the control of sewer systems in the receiving area of the wastewater treatment plant. It specifies the necessary information and data which are needed for the design and implementation of such systems as well as the performance requirements with respect to the hard- and software. Wastewater treatment plants - Part 15: Measurement of the oxygen transfer in clean water in aeration tanks of activated sludge plants

This European Standard specifies the non-steady state measurement of the oxygen transfer rate and the oxygen transfer efficiency of aeration systems in activated sludge aeration tanks (see EN 12255-6) when filled with clean water. NOTE 1 This is known as the clean water test. NOTE 2 Since the method is based on completely mixed tanks or tanks with evenly distributed aerators or diffusers test results from certain aeration installations can be incorrect. NOTE 3 Under process conditions with mixed liquor the oxygen transfer rate and the oxygen transfer efficiency can be different from the clean water test results. This is expressed by the α-factor.


Installations and equipment for liquefied natural gas - general characteristics of liquefied natural gas

This European standard gives guidance on the characteristics of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the cryogenic materials used in LNG industry. It also gives guidance on health and safety matters. It is intended to act as a reference document for implementation of the standards of CEN/TC 282 “installations and equipment for liquefied natural gas”. It is intended as a references for use by person who design or operate LNG facilities.


Plastics piping systems for water supply and for buried and above-ground drainage and sewerage under pressure - Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) - Part 7: Guidance for the assessment of conformity

This part of EN ISO 1452 gives guidance for the assessment of conformity of compounds/formulations, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with the applicable parts of EN ISO 1452 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of certification procedures. It is recommended that the quality management system conforms to or is no less stringent than the relevant requirements to EN ISO 9001 [1]. NOTE If certification is involved, the certification body and inspection body is preferably compliant with EN 45011 [2], EN 45012 [3] or EN ISO/IEC 17021 [4], as applicable. In conjunction with Parts 1 to 5 of EN ISO 1452 (see Foreword) this document is applicable to unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) plastics piping systems for water supply and for buried and above-ground drainage and sewerage under pressure.


Plastic piping systems for soil and waste discharge (low and high temperature) within the building structure – Polypropylene (PP) - Part 2: Guidance for the assessment of conformity

This Technical Specification gives guidance for the assessment of conformity of materials, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with the applicable part(s) of EN 1451 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of third-party certification procedures. NOTE 1 It is recommended that the quality management system conforms to or is no less stringent than the relevant requirements to EN ISO 9001 [1]. Plastics piping systems for water supply with or without pressure - Glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resin (UP)

This European Standard specifies the required properties of the piping system and its components made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resin (UP) intended to be used for water supply (drinking or raw) with or without pressure. In a pipework system, pipes and fittings of different nominal pressure and stiffness ratings may be used together. It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes. This European Standard is applicable to GRP-UP, with flexible or rigid joints (see 3.33 and 3.34), primarily intended for use in buried installations. NOTE Piping systems conforming to this European Standard can also be used for non-buried applications provided that the influence of the environment, e.g. from UV-radiation, and the supports are considered in the design of the pipes, fittings and joints. It is applicable to pipes, fittings and their joints of nominal sizes from DN 100 to DN 4000, which are intended to be used for the conveyance of water at temperatures up to 50 °C, with or without pressure. This European Standard covers a range of nominal sizes, nominal stiffnesses and nominal pressures. This European Standard is applicable to fittings made using any of the following techniques: a) fabricated from straight pipe; b) moulded by: 1) filament winding; 2) tape winding; 3) contact moulding; 4) hot or cold press moulding. Recommended practices for the installation of buried pipes made in accordance with this standard is addressed in CEN/TS 14578. Guidelines for the structural analysis of buried GRP-UP pipelines are addressed in CEN/TS 14807. Guidance for the Assessment of Conformity of products made in accordance with this standard is addressed in CEN/TS 14632.

Earthquake Loads: General Rules

A.1.1 This part deals with the procedure for calculating the lateral forces and their distribution on structures induced by earthquake ground shaking and which shall be used in their seismic design. A.1.2 Requirements of this part are intended to preserve the integrity of structures in the inelastic range of response when subjected to earthquake ground shaking of moderate or high intensity. A.1.3 These provisions do not deal with the distribution of forces among the various components in the structures or the computation of stresses produced by these forces. A.1.4 Requirements of this part may be applied to buildings of any type, chimneys, towers, and elevated tanks. A.1.5 Calculation of lateral earthquake forces on structures in accordance with other well recognized international codes of practice is allowed, provided that the minimum seismic zone factor and ground motion representation specified in this document are considered in the analysis. A.1.6 Structures such as bridges, dams, tunnels, underground structures, domes, shell roof, and other structures not covered in section A.1.7 may require special and more sophisticated procedures for determining their design earthquake loads, and therefore, they are not covered under these provisions. However, the design of these structures shall comply with the minimum seismic zone factor and ground motion representation specified in this document.

Packaging- Management of hygiene in the production of packaging for foodstuffs- Requirements

This European Standard specifies requirements for a hygiene management system for manufacturers and suppliers of food packaging including storage and transportation. This European Standard enables an organization to:  plan, design, implement, operate, maintain and update a hazard analysis and risk assessment system that ensures the production of food packaging materials conforming with the hygiene requirements;  demonstrate conformity with agreed customers’ hygiene requirements;  demonstrate the effectiveness of the system;  help food manufacturers to provide adequate evidence to compliance with food and packaging safety regulations;  ensure that it complies with its stated hygiene policy;  demonstrate such compliance to other interested parties;  seek registration or certification of its food packaging hygiene management system by an external organization. This European Standard can be applied to all organizations wishing to implement an adequate and effective hygiene management system in the field of food packaging manufacturing including producers and suppliers of materials and services to the packaging manufacturers. It is intended that this European Standard be applied in conjunction with a quality management system such as EN ISO 9001. It may be appropriate to apply this European Standard to other articles and items coming into contact with food and to packaging of products other than food.

This part of ISO 6322 gives guidance on the choice of a method of storage of cereals and pulses, and on the practical recommendations for good storage, according to the method chosen. Other aspects of the storage of cereals and pulses are dealt with in ISO 6322-1 and ISO 6322-3


Storage of cereals and pulses Part 3: Control of attack by pests

This part of ISO 6322 gives guidance on means of controlling attack by pests on cereals and pulses in storage. NOTE - Other aspects of storage of cereals and pulses are dealt with in ISO 6322-1 and ISO 6322-2, and the determination of insect infesta- tion is dealt with in ISO 605, ISO 6639-1, ISO 6639-2, ISO 6639-3 and ISO 6639-4.


Dentistry- Oral hygiene products- Oral rinses

This International Standard specifies physical and chemical requirements and test methods for oral rinses. It also specifies the accompanying information such as manufacturer's instructions for use, marking and/or labelling requirements. This International Standard is not applicable to other delivery systems (e.g. mouthsprays, foams, powders). It is not intended to describe regulatory aspects, e.g. methods of prescription. This International Standard is not applicable to oral rinses available by prescription only.


Dentistry- Dentifrices- Requirements, test methods and marking

This International Standard specifies requirements for the physical and chemical properties of dentifrices and provides guidelines for suitable test methods. It also specifies requirements for the marking, labelling and packaging of dentifrices. This International Standard applies to dentifrices, including toothpastes, destined to be used by the public on a daily basis with a toothbrush to promote oral hygiene. Specific qualitative and quantitative requirements for freedom from biological and toxicological hazards are not included in this International Standard. These are covered in ISO 7405[1] and ISO 10993-1[2].


General rules for the design and installation of ceramic tiling

This Technical Report applies to internal and external floor and wall ceramic tiling, installed by both cement mortar and adhesive methods. The aim of this Technical Report is to define the quality of ceramic tiling and the main general rules associated with materials selection, design, installation and use that should be followed to ensure that the required levels of quality and performance are achieved. Note: The quality of ceramic tiling depends on compliance with the following general requirements: - regularity - durability - safety Compliance with these requirements shall be achieved with the simultaneous and indispensable contribution of all the "functions" involved in the design and installation of the tiling. These functions are: - manufacture and distribution of the materials (ceramic tiles, adhesives, grouts, etc.); - design of the tiling; - installation of the tiling (tile fixing operations). The durability of the tiling can also depend on it's use and management


Adhesives for tiles - Determination of transverse deformation for cementitious adhesives and grouts

This European Standard specifies the test method to be used to determine the transverse deformation of cementitious ceramic tile adhesives and grouts. This European Standard is applicable to all cementitious ceramic tile adhesives and grouts for internal and external tile installations on floors and walls. It is not applicable to non-cementitious adhesives and grouts , e.g. dispersion and reactive resin adhesives and grouts. This European Standard does not contain performance requirements or recommendations for the design and installation of ceramic tiles. NOTE Ceramic tile adhesives can also be used for other kinds of tiles (natural and agglomerated stones, etc.), where these do not adversely affect these materials.


Adhesive for tiles - Determination of shear adhesion strength of reaction resin adhesives
